[Columbina Cosplay] The Girl with the White Dove Imagery in Genshin Impact

This outfit, dominated by white and light blue, really tests the choice of fabrics—especially the translucent sheer tulle material and the arrangement of those bows. While preparing for this cosplay, I paid special attention to the drape and layering of the costume because Genshin Impact's character designs are incredibly rich in detail. If the sheer tulle on the shoulders and the ties at the waist aren't handled well, the overall flowing elegance would be greatly compromised. Paired with the lightweight white wing-like hair accessories, the entire look felt as if it had its own gentle sense of floating during the shoot.

Managing the wig was one of the key focuses of this styling. With black hair as the base color and the hair ends transitioning into a gradient purple-pink, this color contrast is a real test of the wig strands' smoothness and the durability of the styling. I spent quite a bit of time trimming the bangs and sideburns to ensure my head proportions didn't look bulky once worn, and to allow this dip-dyed color to transition naturally under the light. For the makeup, I went with a relatively clean and clear style, mainly emphasizing the agility of my gaze and the depth of the eye makeup, which, combined with a light sweep of blush, fused the character's mysterious temperament with a youthful, girlish charm.

The shooting scene was set indoors, using high-key blue-purple lighting paired with white Roman pillars and clusters of blue hydrangeas. This cool-toned setting perfectly complemented the cleanliness of the costume. The high-key, luminous images you see are actually a deliberately pursued effect of dreamy photography. Through precise control of the light sources, the frames present a hazy, dreamlike visual tone, softening the edge details of the environment to focus the visual attention on my sheer tulle decorations and the overall styling. To highlight the ribbons and the skin lines on my legs, the sitting pose composition in Photo 2 was decided after long discussions with the photographer. It beautifully showcases the character's cuteness while retaining an ethereal charm, and the translucent straps on my legs also trace elegant curves under the play of light and shadow.

In the process of recreating this character, the biggest challenge was how to convey her sense of calmness and detachment in front of the camera. She always carries an elusive, faint smile, with eyes that seem to hide many secrets. Therefore, during the shoot, I had to constantly adjust my facial expressions and body language—neither too dramatic nor too rigid. The pose with hands clasped in Photo 3 was meant to express a slightly reserved, protective, and lazy vibe. Before every press of the shutter, I would check with the photographer on the folds of the costume and the flow of my hair strands, striving to make every detail perfect.

The post-processing of this cosplay didn't involve heavy skin smoothing or filters; we mainly balanced the color temperature and contrast of the frames, preserving the genuine texture of the skin. Looking at the final photos, it feels like it truly recreated that figure in my mind—as lightweight as a white dove, quiet, and holding a touch of mystery. Every time I wear this outfit and stand in front of the lens, I can deeply appreciate the unique aesthetic of this character—not just the gorgeousness of the clothing, but the power contained within her quietness. I am incredibly happy to have captured such an atmospheric set of photos.
