Straightening this outfit, fastening that conspicuous halo prop overhead, and hanging the ID badge across my chest, catching my reflection in the mirror immediately brought forth the character's aloof coolness and corporate presence.
For this shoot, I chose a black tailored blazer jacket with a cinched waistline, layered over a white high-neck turtleneck top. To accentuate overall clean lines, the lower half featured a black pleated skirt paired with sheer Black stockings. The wig was trimmed beforehand: the straight bangs neatly frame my face, and the long locks on either side were smoothed out with care. Paired with crimson contact lenses, this gave my gaze an authoritative, imposing aura for this Tsukatsuki Rio cosplay from Blue Archive.
The setting was chosen in an office area complete with a whiteboard, blinds, and potted foliage behind me, illuminated by clear, translucent ambient light. The "Today's To-Do List" on the whiteboard was written by myself in advance: Rule 1: Eat well; Rule 2: Sleep well; Rule 3: No overtime! Alongside were playful doodles of a little bunny and a cat. To stay true to character, the photographer advised me to refrain from smiling and maintain an icy composure, necessitating expansive yet restrained body language in this Office style cosplay.
The gesture of lifting the skirt hem in the first photo was adjusted several times. The arc of the pleated skirt required precise control: lifting too high looked artificial, while lifting too low failed to showcase the layered pleats and the sheer texture of the Black stockings. The final pose looked natural while gracefully elongating leg lines. For Photos 2 and 3, writing on the whiteboard with a marker, I subtly fine-tuned my wrist angle to make the writing motion look completely authentic, while angling my torso toward the camera to highlight the blazer's crisp shoulder silhouette and tailored waist.
The Uniform itself is packed with fine details—such as the two subtle triangular accents along the blazer's collar lapels and the custom graphics on the employee ID lanyard—all demanding faithful recreation during pre-production. The halo prop above my head was somewhat heavy; to preserve its suspended angle, we added extra bobby pins mid-shoot. Because the suit fabric and pleated skirt were relatively crisp and structured, lighting required eliminating harsh specular glare. The photographer repositioned the softboxes to lean toward cool, crisp white tones, heightening the striking contrast against the dark suit.
Cosplaying Tsukatsuki Rio this time, I truly wanted to channel her capable, sharp efficiency alongside that touch of aloof detachment. Even though the whiteboard text added a humorous touch, my gaze and posture remained anchored in her canon demeanor. While the session was physically taxing, seeing the final lighting and costume textures meet expectations made all the groundwork thoroughly worthwhile.
