[Hu Tao cosplay] NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Summer Pool Outfit Styling

This shoot featuring NARAKA: BLADEPOINT's Hu Tao in her summer swimsuit leaned toward a breezy, refreshing everyday style. For the wardrobe, I chose a navy one-piece swimsuit with white side stripes and a white petal motif printed across the midriff, layered over with a semi-translucent white short-sleeved cover-up trimmed in dark blue along the collar and cuffs. I deliberately tied a knot at the cover-up's hem to elevate the waistline, optimizing overall body proportions while introducing layered visual dimension. The lower half was styled with semi-sheer white over-the-knee Stockings, matched with black twin-tails and a plush white beast-ear headband. The makeup emphasized the eyes, utilizing pinkish eyeshadow to contour the sockets alongside a rosy red lip to keep the complexion bright and spirited.

The location was an outdoor swimming pool blessed with ample sunlight. Under natural daylight, the water's surface acted as an organic bounce board, lending a luminous, translucent clarity to the skin. To keep the compositions lively, I brought a green duck swim ring as an interactive prop. We started with standing shots—tugging gently on my pigtails or hoisting the swim ring—before transitioning to seated poses along the submerged pool steps. Sitting gracefully demands strict bodily control; I kept my back upright while crossing my legs naturally and extending them forward to accentuate the smooth hug of the over-the-knee stockings and elongate leg contours. Light refractions in the pool rendered the blue background crystal clear, yielding a serene and balanced color scheme.

In terms of expressions and poses, I experimented with direct eye contact, hand hearts, and playful winks to channel the character's vivacious, mischievous personality. Although shooting around water, the ambient temperature was delightfully mild rather than sweltering. The swimsuit fabric is quite form-fitting, so whenever I walked along the edge or sat down, I made sure to smooth away awkward creases to maintain polished tactile quality in every frame. Relying on minimal complex lighting gear—mostly natural sun and handheld bounce cards—preserved the authentic summer pool atmosphere. The final deliverables turned out wonderfully, capturing both the crisp coolness of summer and the character's signature charm.
