[FEater cosplay] The dark martial artist in Arknights

The material of this Arknights FEater cosplay costume has a great texture and is heavier to wear than expected. To restore the character's personality, I specifically chose this highly traditional Chinese-style studio. With a wooden geometric screen behind, a red traditional cloud-patterned carpet on the floor, and red lanterns and paper umbrellas on the side, it directly maxes out that dark and retro atmosphere.

In terms of clothing details, the tailoring of the dark blue modified cheongsam is very slim. It not only retains the traditional charm of the frog buttons and mandarin collar but also shows off the leg lines through the slit design. The paired black semi-transparent stockings and leg loops are the finishing touch, which, combined with the chunky heel black leather shoes, makes the whole look elegant with a bit of a heroic spirit. The Erhu prop used during the shoot was very heavy. To strike the correct playing posture, I repeatedly adjusted my sitting position many times, maintaining a cold, glamorous, and slightly mysterious feeling. The silver-white twintails on the head paired with round black sunglasses add a touch of modern flair to the overall look.

Another black, white, and gold color scheme look replaces the hem of the clothes with semi-transparent black gauze, which sparkles with tiny spots of light under the illumination. During the shoot, we tried a slightly low-angle tilted composition. Especially in the moment the black gauze was lifted, the layered sense revealed by the hemline was beautiful. This type of photo has high requirements for body lines, so before the shoot, I paid special attention to managing my leg and arm lines. Paired with the red drapes, the overall visual effect is very rich.

The setting of the character FEater inherently carries a sense of contrast, needing to express strength and coldness while also having some traditional cultural symbols. During the shooting process, I tried to find the best angle under different lighting. This feeling of combining a hardcore style with traditional Chinese elements is wonderful. The golden bracelets on the accessories, the black ankle straps, and the stacking of various traditional elements presented a very special tension in front of the camera.

In post-processing, the warm yellow light source was retained, giving the whole picture a retro film look. This attempt is also a challenge for me personally; whether it's the mastery of movements or the control of expressions, I tried my best to fit the character's uninhibited temperament. Although my legs were shaking halfway through the shoot because I maintained the Erhu-playing posture for too long, I am still very happy to finally get satisfactory photos.

As a regular cosplay project, this FEater shoot yielded a lot in terms of prop usage and scene arrangement. The combination of the Erhu, screen, and oiled paper umbrella gives the film a strong sense of story. It was a very fulfilling and logical shooting experience.
