[Hu Tao cosplay] Crisp Lawson Collab Look at Genshin Impact Firefly ACG Expo

The Convention photos from Firefly ACG Expo are finally sorted out! This time, I cosplayed Hu Tao's Lawson collaboration look from Genshin Impact. The entire styling revolves around a blue-and-white color palette, trading some of her original fiery intensity for a crisp, refreshing, and energetic vibe. To match this collab outfit, I specially styled a reddish-brown wig with a blue hair ribbon, while the red contact lenses retained the character's iconic identity. The makeup was kept light and natural, preventing harsh glare under the complex convention hall lighting and adapting smoothly to on-site ambient changes.

Let's talk about the costume details first. The top consists of a loose white short-sleeve shirt with blue trim under a half-off-the-shoulder blue sporty windbreaker jacket, accented with purple stitching across various subtle details. The small white ornament on the matching black crossbody bag adds dimensional depth to the overall styling. The lower half features a blue-and-white pleated miniskirt paired with a Black tights outfit and white chunky sneakers—this combination made walking around the venue effortless, keeping my feet comfortable throughout the entire day.

When curating the shots, I deliberately chose Photo 3 as the cover. As you can see from the pose standing on one leg with arms wide open, maintaining balance on the hall's slick tile floor was a bit of a challenge; yet to capture that playful, vibrant charm, I did my best to hold my core steady. The photographer's snap was spot-on, giving the entire frame dynamic energy. The full-body framing clearly showcased the leg lines and skirt flare, while the texture of the Black tights outfit transitioned smoothly under ambient light, creating an appealing visual balance.

The other photos also found their purpose, capturing different facets of the set from various angles. For instance, the first close-up focuses on upper-body and accessory details; the second well-behaved standing pose shows the overall tailored fit; and the fourth shot raising a single fist captures a mischievous cheering vibe. For every pose, I strove to match the relaxed, casual, and approachable ambiance of this collab outfit. Lighting inside the hall was quite ample, and thanks to the photographer's ability to maintain soft light and shadow while capturing motion, the facial gradation looked pleasing and smooth.

Although it's a collaboration design, Hu Tao's innate spirited charm blended in seamlessly. The long reddish-brown hair accented by blue hair accessories offered high recognizability in the crowd. Many friends at the expo joined this convention tour season, creating a lively atmosphere; hearing people recognize this specific look made all the preparation worthwhile. In behind-the-scenes moments, you can see many other cosplayers bustling in the background, everyone immersed in this energetic urban convention space.

In post-processing, I restrained heavy color grading to preserve the raw, translucent light-and-shadow quality, keeping the blue-and-white palette clean, ensuring the black stockings and sneakers didn't blend into a muddy mass, and highlighting sharp, crisp silhouette lines. I've always believed that great convention cosplay photos shouldn't rely on piling on heavy filters; rather, they should show the cosplayer standing authentically in the scene, blending into the environment while showcasing the genuine colors of the styling.

Cosplaying this collaboration look was truly a joy. Because of its sporty casual feel, there was zero restriction on movement. Whether meeting up with friends in the hall or hunting for well-lit corners to shoot, everything felt completely comfortable. This type of sporty, casual Cosplay outfit is actually a fantastic choice for everyday convention outings—crisp, photogenic, and yielding a high success rate for great shots. After wrapping up the whole expo, though physically tiring, preserving these satisfying Hu Tao cosplay photos as memories made it an incredibly fulfilling experience.
