Wrapping up these convention photos of Zenless Zone Zero Nangong Yu at the Firefly Comic-Con, we chose the spot before the second-floor French windows primarily for the organic natural lighting. The ensemble features a leather midriff-baring crop top paired with a black pleated skirt, whose tactile texture translated brilliantly under the bright exhibition hall lights. To channel the character's playful charm, the makeup incorporated expansive sweeps of pink blush paired with crimson contact lenses, while the wig was styled with deliberate pink highlights in the underlayers. The purple halo prop perched overhead was hand-cut and assembled from acrylic sheets; to sustain that floating illusion, an ultra-light hidden armature was used for support, keeping it rock-steady without shifting despite walking the floor all day.
The outfit is packed with fine details—an oversized pink bow and silver metal pendant across the chest, complemented by black leather arm sleeves lined with silky purple fabric that added a lovely fluid drape during movement. Because the crop top features an exposed-waist cut, maintaining core posture throughout the takes was essential; fortunately, regular fitness workouts helped keep the lines looking crisp and flattering. On the lower half, pairing the black leather pleated skirt with over-the-knee Black stockings and chunky lug-sole boots not only elongated leg proportions visually, but also spared my feet from exhaustion during a full day of convention trekking.
During shooting, we experimented with multiple angles to dodge glass glare, ultimately capitalizing on side-backlighting. The photographer directed me through casual poses like chin-resting, reaching out toward the lens, and placing hands on hips, keeping the atmosphere relaxed to capture organic, spontaneous moments. Leather garments definitely run warm in a crowded convention venue, requiring frequent touch-ups on the eye makeup, but overall energy and momentum remained solid. This 2D styling of Nangong Yu carries high visual recognition on the show floor, with the interplay of Black stockings and the leather skirt creating great visual tension on camera. We captured both full-length and half-body close-ups; my personal favorite is the full-body frame, which cleanly showcases the outfit's silhouette balance and the rich texture of the Black stockings. Even amidst convention crowds, bringing home satisfying photos made every bit of preparation over the past few days well worth it.
