[Velina cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Vintage Library Invitation

The tailoring of Velina's outfit is rich in structural design: the deep navy main fabric has a subtle sheen that, paired with white detachable sleeves and a mandarin collar, creates a visual impact that feels both classical and fantastical. To accentuate the character's demeanor, I repeatedly adjusted the layers of the wig before shooting. Silvery-white long straight hair easily falls flat against the scalp, so I teased the crown for volume and left strands framing both sides of the face, pairing them with pointed elf ears to sculpt a three-dimensional contour. For makeup, the focus was blended eye cosmetics: purple contacts paired with reddish-pink eyeshadow, extending the eyeliner slightly past the outer corners to add a touch of mystery.

The choice of shooting location aligned flawlessly with the tone of the ensemble. A vintage library background carries an inherent, dignified retro charm. The dark wooden bookshelves and crimson velvet seating formed an intense color contrast with the blue-and-white dress. During the shoot, ambient lighting was gentle and frontal key lighting was evenly distributed, faithfully rendering the texture of the silver accents and metallic ornaments while making the diamond argyle patterns on the White stockings stand out crisp and clear.

In terms of posing, there were numerous seated and desk-leaning setups. Wearing an outfit with an intricate corset sash and tassels meant movements had to stay measured to prevent shifting the layers. For the shot seated at the edge of the desk, I leaned my center of gravity slightly back and naturally crossed my legs, which not only showcased the pairing of white tights and silver high heels but also visually elongated the leg line. Holding a folding fan or a teacup eliminated any awkwardness of where to place my hands while infusing narrative storytelling into the frame. Among the props, the folding fan was a true highlight: the blue pattern across the fan blade echoed the blue tones of the dress, and the white trim dotted with blue spots was a thoughtful accent.

When shooting the teacup scenes, I imagined myself as an aristocrat enjoying a leisurely afternoon—moving with gentle deliberation, locking eyes calmly with the lens to project poised composure. While the entire session was physically demanding—especially keeping my core engaged whether standing or sitting in high heels—seeing the graceful drape of the fabrics and the seamless harmony of light and shadow made every effort worthwhile. Faithfully capturing character details is an act of respect to the source material. The cinch of the corset was quite tight, and the headpieces required numerous bobby pins to anchor onto the wig, so I loosened the corset slightly during breaks to catch my breath. With many antique book props on set, handling them carefully was essential. For poses leaning forward on the desk, bracing my upper body with my elbows while maintaining an upright posture kept the clothing lines crisp without collapsing. Snapping the fan open also took practice to consistently unfurl it to the ideal angle, fully displaying the blue-and-white design. The entire process centered on detail and ambiance, whether quietly sipping tea or gently fluttering the fan, striving to convey the character's natural poise in this bespoke scene.
