This set of photos was completed inside an esports gaming room brimming with 2D anime culture. To match the persona of VTuber Yuuki Sakuna, I specifically selected a pink Maid outfit aesthetic. I wore a white maid katyusha headband at the crown, with twin tails tied using light blue ribbons on both sides; paired with straight blunt bangs and long pink hair, the overall visual came across as incredibly soft and gentle. For makeup, the focus was placed on reddish-pink eyeshadow alongside matching contacts to capture the character's adorable and dreamlike aura.
The dress was packed with rich nuances: a white pointed collar accented by a black bow tie, an oversized red bow on the chest flanked by light blue accent bows, puff sleeves with white turn-back cuffs, and a multi-tiered ruffled skirt. The lower half was styled with pure White stockings (over-the-knee length) to enhance the completeness of the ensemble. Because the environment was a quintessential gaming room, we explored numerous props and postures during the shoot.
Photographer @Napolo was fantastic at capturing candid motion. We started seated in a pink-and-white two-tone gaming chair; I held the Switch pretending to play games with legs resting up on the desk, simultaneously framing the White stockings and conveying the carefree relaxation of gaming at home. The pink mechanical keyboard, anime desk mat, and grey cat-paw wrist rest on the desk served as wonderful props. Behind me, the panoramic glass PC chassis cast blue, green, and purple RGB lighting, while multi-tiered glass display cases in the background housed countless scale figures, naturally enveloping the room in high-density 2D ambiance.
Later, we tried poses sitting on the floor making heart signs, as well as sitting in the chair with legs crossed, smiling naturally toward the camera. When portraying this type of VTuber persona, the most essential element is capturing that warm, playful slice-of-life intimacy without forced expressions—simply playing games and looking at monitors as one normally does brings out the most organic state. Because the room's color scheme leaned into pink and white, the outfit harmonized seamlessly with the environment without demanding excessive color adjustments.
The entire shoot went very smoothly, yielding numerous landscape cuts that captured subtle details across different moments. From adjusting the layers of the wig and handling the handheld console to testing various seated poses to accentuate the skirt drape and white over-the-knee socks, the entire process was deeply enjoyable. Another precious memory has been archived into my 2D lifestyle diary.
