A lot of thought was truly put into today's classroom outdoor location shoot. To make the overall atmosphere fit the scene, I purposely chose this red sports jacket, paired with classic White stockings and red-and-white Mary Jane shoes, plus twin-tails and a plush hair tie, maxing out the character's everyday feel. To achieve great results, chalk drawings and duty-student lettering were specially drawn on the blackboard, matched with the natural light streaming in from the window, making the light and shadow exceptionally gorgeous. The eye makeup emphasized an enlarged eye shape and chose green circle lenses, fitting the original setup's feeling even more. Set against the wooden desks and deep green blackboard, the red jacket creates a striking color contrast that easily catches the eye.
Regarding shooting poses and angles, there were actually many considerations this time. In a classroom, the most common props are desks, chairs, and blackboards, so I tried my best to utilize these elements. For instance, sitting on the desk pretending to block the sun actually requires core strength to make the posture look relaxed and natural. Another way is utilizing the red backpack in hand; whether holding it with one hand, carrying it on the back, or grasping the shoulder strap, it enriches hand movements and prevents physical stiffness. When shooting from a high overhead angle, the gaze needs to look slightly upward to capture a communicative effect; whereas shooting from a low angle upward can showcase a more commanding frame while also highlighting leg lines.
Indoor lighting is actually a major challenge; top lighting sometimes leaves shadows on the face, so external natural light from the window is needed. I had the photographer adjust the angle so that side light hit the face, making the skin texture appear more translucent. In showcasing costume textures, the contrast between the red athletic fabric and White stockings appears full of layering under light and shadow. The heavy red jacket paired with White stockings, though a bit warm, the final photo results prove it was all worth it. Expression management is also vital for recreating the character; it shouldn't be too dull, and carrying a slight tension and eye contact will make the photos much more vivid. Every minor adjustment of movement is meant to better present the character's lively yet slightly tsundere temperament.
Costume coordination details are also crucial. The sports apparel's silhouette is relatively loose, so during the shoot, wrinkles were intentionally created, or the zipper was opened to reveal the inner layer, adding layering. The red-and-white shoes were also carefully selected, and the red heart and polka-dot patterns added plenty of playfulness to the overall look. The white plush balls on the twin-tails stand out prominently against the black and red backgrounds, making them a great visual focal point. Throughout the entire shooting process, it was not only a deepening of understanding of the character, but also a process of rediscovering everyday classroom scenes. The arrangement of desks and chairs, chalk marks, and even the angle of natural light all became indispensable parts of the frame. Although it wasn't a large-scale special effects scene, being able to capture storytelling frames through an everyday classroom environment felt extremely satisfying.
