The convention photos from this World Line Anime Convention are finally sorted out! Taking advantage of this enthusiasm, I'm posting a collection of different scenes and styles. As a cosplayer who loves to challenge different atmospheres, I collaborated with the photographer this time to try out various settings, ranging from indoor vintage libraries and dark, water-puddle environments to abandoned classrooms and mecha exhibition stands. Each look was paired with different hair and makeup beforehand according to the scene. Especially for those sets with fluorescent or water-ripple elements, to create the ethereal feel of the original design, we repeatedly adjusted the shooting angles on-site using natural light and fill lights, doing our best to give the images a narrative feel. During the shoot, matching the wigs and outfits and carrying some heavy props was actually more exhausting than imagined, but seeing the final photos made it feel entirely worth it. The photographer's post-processing this time was also very creative, placing great emphasis on highlight softening and ambient light rendering. This not only preserved the character's texture but also added a dreamlike layer to the visuals. For today's cosplay, taking photos is not just about simply striking a pose; it's more about achieving a certain resonance with the environment, light, and shadow. Behind every photo, there are many clever thoughts regarding the on-site set design. Personally, I really like those close-ups of the character under low-key lighting; the tension in the emotions and movements is right on point. Although summer conventions are quite hard work, recording the moments of different characters along with the sound of the shutter still brings a huge sense of accomplishment. I hope everyone can also feel the dedication and joy in these photos.
