[D cosplay] Goddess of Victory: Nikke Secret Detective

On the third day of Firefly ACG Expo, I cosplayed D from Goddess of Victory: Nikke; this "Killer Wife: Secret Detective" outfit really has so many intricate details. To accurately capture the character for this D cosplay, the wig was trimmed multiple times, ensuring the pink twin-tails had plenty of airy volume so that pairing them with the hair accessories looked completely natural. The top features a halter-neck design in black with gold patterns, subtly incorporating a Chinese mandarin collar element, overlaid with a white lace apron, and paired with black shorts and Stockings on the bottom. I specifically applied black tattoo stickers onto the Stockings, instantly elevating the sense of detail. On my right arm, I wore a white sleevelet with a pink armlet, while the black choker on my neck had to be carefully angled so it wouldn't look awkward.

I brought two sets of props this time: a handgun (prop gun) and glow sticks on the left, and that particularly eye-catching large prop sniper rifle on the right. That sniper rifle was genuinely heavy—holding it with one hand to strike poses demanded solid core strength, and maintaining facial expression control on top of that meant my arms began to ache after just a few frames. Nevertheless, to get great shots, I did my best to keep my body lines extended and expressive. During the afternoon shoot inside the hall, the lighting was quite complex, but the photographer for our TFP photoshoot was exceptionally professional, continually guiding me to adjust angles and capturing delicate details in my gaze and movements. When sitting on the floor or a chair, the Stockings and leg contours were especially prominent in front of the lens, and paired with the firearm resting alongside, an aura of cold, lethal allure came alive.

Honestly, though the convention floor was bustling, finding a clean backdrop took real effort. People were constantly passing by, occasionally stepping into the frame. The photographer and I circled around a few times before finding a relatively uncluttered spot. When crouching down or sitting in profile, the placement of the props was crucial—they couldn't obscure the outfit's distinctive features, nor could they crowd the frame. After wrapping up inside in the afternoon, we considered capturing a few extra sets outside if the light permitted. Because the sniper rifle is quite long, resting it horizontally in front or leaning it vertically to the side created completely different compositions.

Overall, cosplaying D was a very smooth experience. The leathery texture of the outfit and its pairing with Stockings reflected beautifully under the venue lights. The tattoo stickers beneath the Stockings added striking visual accents on the thighs. Because the prop was heavy and movement was somewhat constrained by the wig and costume, every shift in pose required tidying up the apron and straps again. Fortunately, the outcome turned out great—both the dynamic tension and the clean fit of the costume were spot-on. The visual clash between the all-black ensemble and the vibrant pink hair looked immensely captivating on camera.
