Today, I put on and styled this Peach Blossom cosplay outfit of Jinhsi from Wuthering Waves, snapping a few photos in front of the mirror for a quick Cosplay daily life update. I've actually had this costume for a while, just waiting for the right lighting. The natural indoor light was lovely today, so I took the opportunity to document it right by the mirror.
First, a few thoughts on wearing this outfit. The Peach Blossom design has rich layering, and the classic palette of pink, blue, white, and red looks exceptionally high-end. Putting it on, the immediate highlight is how beautifully the fabric drapes—the outer gradient tulle is printed with white floral blossoms, and the skirt floats gracefully with every step. The white collar trimmed with red piping and the golden chest ornaments carry solid visual weight, feeling far from cheap or flimsy. The crimson capelets draping from the shoulders serve as the crowning touch, instantly channeling the character's celestial grace.
I also dedicated considerable care to the wig and headpieces. The silver-white long wig needed patient detangling, and I trimmed the blunt bangs slightly so they would frame the character's face naturally. The pair of pink horn ornaments at the crown is anchored via a headband, reinforced with multiple bobby pins underneath to keep them standing upright and secure. The pink floral blossoms on both sides and the long, semi-sheer white veil flowing behind enhance the airy, floating aesthetic. When putting on these accessories, it's crucial to anchor the wig cap first before positioning the headpieces, otherwise the styling can easily get disrupted.
Since these are Mirror selfie shots, the poses were quite relaxed. One hand holds the phone while the other flashes a casual peace sign. My main focus was showcasing the multi-tiered skirts—the staggered contrast between the light-blue outer skirt and the inner pink-and-white pleated layer reflects clearly in the mirror. A golden thigh ring on the leg helps flatter the leg lines visually, finished with white flat shoes whose subtle ornaments tie in seamlessly with the overall look.
A quick tip from my cosplay experience: for outfits with multi-layered skirts, ironing everything smooth before wearing is essential, otherwise the cascading fabric can easily look messy. Also, the dressing sequence matters—slip into the inner layers first, fasten the waist metal hardware, and finally drape the outer tulle and capelets to best preserve the silhouette's structure. When shooting, the greatest perk of a Mirror selfie is monitoring your state in real time, adjusting the flare of the skirt and the height of the headpieces while checking the garment's fit directly.
After shooting, I color-graded the photos lightly to faithfully preserve the true-to-life pink and blue palette without overly dramatic filters, hoping to offer a helpful reference. When the chance arises, I'll find an ideal setting to shoot a full set of finished photos and share even more costume details.
