[Mornye cosplay] Wuthering Waves convention photos, collision of holographic starry sky and mechanical halo

The convention photos for this time are finally sorted out. I'm cosplaying Mornye from Wuthering Waves. The material expression of this styling in front of the lens indeed exceeded my expectations. A large part of the reason for choosing this character was being attracted by the combination of futuristic sci-fi sense and starry sky elements on her costume.

Let's talk about the material of this outfit first. The jacket is a kind of translucent fabric with iridescent luster, which presents a silvery-white reflection under strong light, and blue-black geometric triangle patterns are spliced at the hem, increasing the overall sense of layering. The inner top features a dark base plus a blue-purple gradient starry sky print. The most eye-catching part is these holographic leggings; when the light sweeps across, the starry sky pattern on the surface emits a purple-pink gradient, making it very striking. The transparent high-heeled sandals and the metal accessories on the wrists were also carefully selected to echo the overall sci-fi style. The silver halo prop on the head is fixed to the headband with a very thin metal rod, and during shooting, the angle needed to be continuously adjusted to avoid the thin rod from showing.

The wig is light blue short hair, with a white triangular hair accessory on the fringe part. The hair ends were trimmed and styled to make them look more layered and prevent them from sticking to the cheeks. To match the character's temperament, I wore red contact lenses, and the makeup emphasized the contours of the eyes, using cool-toned eyeshadow. The overall makeup feel leans towards cold and sharp, contrasting with the blue hair.

The post description mentioned action references to anime, so during the shooting, I tried different combinations of sitting and standing postures. In the group of pictures sitting on the A-frame ladder, the leg postures needed to be extended as much as possible to fully display the texture and light-and-shadow changes of the holographic pants, while the arm movements had to be soft to bring out a bit of the dynamic feel of an anime character. The environmental lighting of the studio shooting is quite cool, and photographer OUKAI is great at guiding emotions and adjusting lighting positions according to the clothing materials. Because the holographic fabric reflects light extremely easily, a slight difference in lighting angle would completely change the texture of the clothes. Taking convention photos at the exhibition site, where there are many people and messy lighting, being able to take photos with a clean background still tests the photographer's control over depth of field and candid capture techniques.

When posing on the white cylindrical stage, I needed to constantly pay attention to maintaining balance, especially when wearing transparent high heels, keeping the core tightened. The golden bracelet on the wrist, the blue ribbons, and the ID badge props on the body easily got tangled together when posing, requiring rearrangement after each set. Although the shooting process of convention photos is compact and exhausting, seeing the dreamy halo reflected by the lights hitting the starry sky pants in the final photos made it feel like all the details of this outfit were perfectly recorded. Although the color span of this styling is large, the overall fusion is quite natural. The expression of the holographic material under the cold studio light is indeed very special; I hope this set of convention photos can provide everyone with some visual references, and it also serves as a record of this convention challenge.
