[The Shorekeeper cosplay] The Deep Blue Phantom in Wuthering Waves - Image 1

A lot of thought was put into the material selection for this Shorekeeper costume. To recreate that lightweight and translucent visual effect, the main body of the top uses multiple layers of different semi-sheer blue light gauzes stacked together. The edges are all hand-stitched with silver metallic-textured bindings, threaded with silver fine lines through punched holes, paired with golden spherical buckles, making the overall look possess both a fantastical sci-fi feel and a touch of exquisite classical charm. The blue star-shaped pattern on the chest was painted using special body paint pigments; to keep the edges sharp, I tried several times before achieving a satisfactory effect.

For the makeup part, because The Shorekeeper has an ethereal temperament, I purposely chose purplish-gray circle lenses to enhance the depth of the gaze. The eye makeup enlarged the eye shape, blending light purple eyeshadow at the outer corners, and the false eyelashes chose an anime-style look, applied strand by strand to make the eyes look more expressive. The base makeup pursued that flawless cool-white skin texture, paired with light pink lip glaze to fit the character's atmosphere as closely as possible.

The wig is an ice-blue long straight hair. To create that well-proportioned messy feel of the bangs, I repeatedly styled it with hair gel and a flat iron, and the hair edges were also trimmed with layers so that it would have that vivid, wind-blown dynamic feel in front of the lens.

During the shoot, to match the light-transmitting feel of this outfit, the lighting engineer set up two softboxes in front, allowing the blue light gauze to reveal a bit of gloss in the lens, while using a cool-toned rim light in the background to detach the subject's edges from the dark background. The blue butterfly prop in hand was made using a wire skeleton with special fluorescent blue silk fabric; when resting on the fingertips, it echoes the star pattern on the chest. The silver fine threads wrapped around the arms are also part of the costume; attention must be paid to tightness when binding so that the wrapped texture is visible without leaving indentation marks that affect aesthetics.

The blue long gloves are actually not one-piece; instead, they are fixed with silver armbands, and the edges are embellished with rhinestones, creating subtle reflections with every gesture. The blue-and-white color-blocked skirt hem features a drapey satin material for the white part, while the blue part is pleated, creating layering when walking. The entire costume is extremely cumbersome to wear and put on; just fixing those metal rings and fine threads took over half an hour. However, seeing the final presentation effect in front of the lens made all this meticulous obsession with details completely worth it. The metallic texture of the accessories is prone to overexposure under strong light, so the angle had to be constantly adjusted during the shoot to avoid glare. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the character accuracy of this styling, especially under the coordination of light and shadow, where that wave-like texture was rendered wonderfully.
