Today I want to share the photoshoot details of Master Qingxiao with everyone. The costume design has incredible depth: the main piece is a white short dress with a Chinese mandarin collar, featuring interwoven blue and gold cloud pattern embroidery across the chest and waist, paired with metal clasps inset with sapphires. Layered over this are translucent light blue chiffon wide sleeves with long streamers along the edges, lending an extraordinarily airy, flowing motion when walking or posing. The skirt features a multi-layered accordion pleat silhouette, with a pure white lining overlaid by a layer of semi-sheer light blue gradient chiffon.
The wig consists of long, light-blue flowing curls that maintain a dynamic, airy movement throughout. For headwear, I wore three-dimensional crystal-coral hair ornaments made of translucent cyan-blue material, flanked on both sides by dangling tassel earrings. In terms of makeup, the eyeshadow was chosen in a soft light-blue palette to echo the hair color, paired with light blue contact lenses. The overall makeup was kept translucent and luminous, emphasizing the facial bone structure to bring out that cool, celestial temperament.
The prop used in the shoot was a longsword featuring a silver-gray metallic blade with intricate blue-green decorative elements on the crossguard. Under the high-key, pure white lighting of the studio, every texture and detail was captured with crystal clarity. To harmonize with the outfit's aesthetic, I designed two distinct posing directions. One had both hands clasped before my chest in a spellcasting mudra gesture, focusing on showcasing finger silhouettes and the extension of the flowing sleeve ribbons. The other was an upright, poised standing sword pose, raising a finger vertically with a direct gaze into the lens to capture her valiant, commanding edge.
In terms of wearing experience, pairing the over-the-knee white stockings with the garter straps meant being extra mindful of skirt tugging during poses. Under studio lighting, white high heels and semi-sheer over-the-knee stockings reflect light very easily, requiring constant adjustments to my position and lighting angles to avoid blown-out white glares. The armbands and wrist cuffs wrap quite securely; I personally feel these details effectively enhance the layered complexity and battle-ready aura of the outfit.
Regarding this Wuthering Waves creative incentive, I kept reflecting on how to integrate flat photography with the unique characteristics of the game character. During preparation, I repeatedly adjusted the garment pattern, particularly the patchwork proportions of the chiffon and the tassel lengths, aiming to retain dynamic lightness even within still frames. The weight of the longsword required steady one-handed support for long stretches; when holding the vertical finger pose, I practiced wrist leverage repeatedly to keep my hands stable while maintaining an effortless, natural posture.
The overall completeness of this look turned out very high—from the delicate precision of the embroidery to the drape of the chiffon skirt, all achieved our envisioned visual impact. Dominated by light blue and pure white paired with the silver blade, it crafted a crisp yet deeply ethereal ambiance. Tidying up the costume after the shoot and looking over these exquisite details made all the early preparation and repeated trial-and-error feel completely worthwhile.
