[Ji Ru Qianlong Cosplay] A Thousand-Year Heritage in The Legend of Qin and Nine Songs of Moving Heavens

This set of Ji Ru Qianlong cosplay photos was shot during the Changsha ACC Anime Convention, captured by photographer WiFi. To faithfully reproduce the character's cool, noble, and fateful aura, I put a great deal of thought into preparing the makeup, hair styling, and outfit for this shoot.

When choosing costume fabrics, I tried to stay as close as possible to the spirit of the original animated series. The outer layer is made of light and breathable white tulle, while the inner layer features ice-blue glossy fabric with intricate jacquard patterns. The striking thin red border along the skirt's hem injects a crisp visual focal point into the overall cool-toned look. A deep blue wide sash is wrapped around the waist, which, through layered tailoring, elevates the waistline while enriching visual depth. When the skirt spreads out naturally across the floor as shown in the second photo, the complex lace patterns interwoven with cool, translucent tulle look exceptionally ethereal and fluid.

Compared to the outfit, recreating the makeup, hair, and accessories was even more challenging. Ji Ru Qianlong's iconic headpiece consists of two blue hair rings with ribbons, while the sapphire pendant hanging over her forehead serves as the crowning touch of the entire look. To ensure the headpiece stayed secure, I built solid internal skeletal support inside. Combined with a translucent white veil, I had to prevent the veil from being disarranged by wind or breath during the shoot while keeping my gaze clear and sharp through the fabric. Though it was a wig, creating the three-dimensional loop buns consumed a considerable amount of styling time.

Regarding pose design, the two photos each have a different focus. In the dynamic capture of the first photo, I turned slightly sideways with my right hand loosely clenched in a fist, working with the photographer to catch the moment the skirt fluttered, striving to convey a sense of mission for this \"thousand-year heritage\" and the character's inner resolve. For the static seated pose in the second picture, I arranged the layered fabrics so they cascaded like water ripples, forming a specific hand gesture with my right hand to express her quiet, mysterious, and gently melancholic demeanor.

On the day of the shoot, the lighting at the Changsha ACC Anime Convention venue was actually quite dim, and the floor featured dark reflective material, which severely tested the photographer's light control skills. Photographer WiFi found an excellent angle on stage, using top lighting and side-front lighting to bring out facial features and clothing textures with crisp clarity, while utilizing the dark blurred background to perfectly isolate the subject from the noisy environment.

Looking at the unedited photos, I felt all the tedious preparation to recreate the character was completely worthwhile. In the story, this character bears deeply heavy emotions and destiny. While I cannot personally experience the weight of a thousand years, in front of the lens, I strove to set aside my everyday playfulness and infuse this cool, composed, and noble presence into every subtle expression and movement. The tranquil yet slightly distant mood in the final photos is exactly how Ji Ru Qianlong exists in my heart. I am thrilled to reunite with childhood memories in such a meaningful way.
