[Ikuyo Kita cosplay] Bocchi the Rock! Location Shoot: The Energetic Guitarist on the Bridge

A band is truly like a second family—rehearsing and performing together always brings an irreplaceable sense of belonging. Bringing this Ikuyo Kita school uniform coordinate to the bridge was all about channeling that youthful spirit interwoven with band life. Our primary workhorse gear for the day was the Sony A7C2 paired with the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 G2. This setup is genuinely an unmatched pairing for lightweight outdoor sessions, allowing extended handheld shooting without physical fatigue. The A7C2's Creative Look profiles deliver incredibly pleasing straight-out-of-camera color science with translucent, natural skin tones; meanwhile, the 28-75mm focal range granted effortless freedom along the narrow pedestrian walkway of the bridge—the 28mm wide end took in expansive blue skies and billowing white clouds, while the 75mm telephoto instantly framed intimate medium portraits, backed by reliable autofocus tracking during dynamic movement bursts.

The weather was in peak form, with azure skies and towering clouds offering an immaculate natural backdrop. I wore a crisp white sailor-style blouse paired with a charcoal-gray pleated skirt, anchored by the iconic red ribbon tie as the defining focal accent of the ensemble. To embody Kita's radiant, sun-like exuberance, I experimented on the bridge with balancing on one foot with arms lightly outspread, as well as shading my eyes with one hand in a curious gazing stance. The pleated skirt caught the gentle breeze with organic flare, complemented by white calf-length White stockings and brown leather loafers, fitting the Japanese JK style campus setting to perfection.

The props we brought along were equally essential: the oversized light-colored guitar gig bag and deep navy sports duffle not only anchored the visual composition, but also grounded the band narrative in tangible reality. Walking across the bridge hoisting the gig bag or propping it against the metal railing captured genuine, slice-of-life documentary moments. During takes, I visualized myself walking to band practice, relying on candid bursts to freeze the most effortless, unscripted expressions—an immersive mindset that kept physical body language relaxed and natural.

Later, moving onto the park lawns, I layered on a camel-toned knit cardigan and held an anime art book. This serene setting provided a lovely thematic counterpoint to the vibrant energy on the bridge. Sitting on the grass, I allowed myself to completely unwind, leafing through the pages resting on my lap. I had the photographer shoot wide open at F/2.8, melting the emerald grass and foliage into a velvety background bokeh that made the subject pop crisply. Sunlight filtered gently through the leafy canopy, and thanks to the A7C2's outstanding dynamic range, the image retained delicate, organic transitions between highlights and shadows.

Participating in the 1km Photography Contest was largely about savoring the sheer joy of co-creating alongside the photographer. From scouting and wardrobe styling to syncing physical chemistry, the entire workflow unfolded seamlessly. A band is a second family, and photography is simply another way to preserve cherished memories. Every cosplay project feels like stepping briefly into another life, translating an appreciation of the character and narrative through garments, poise, and visual language—a journey deeply meaningful in itself. You don't need elaborate studio strobes: with the right environment, dialed-in light, and fitting equipment, creating work that brings true satisfaction is always within reach.
