[Zai Ji Cosplay] Convention Photos from World Line Anime Convention for NARAKA: BLADEPOINT

Getting these Zai Ji cosplay convention photos from World Line Anime Convention, photographer Xie Xiu's post-processing made the overall texture much closer to the design details of the original in-game skin. The lighting conditions at the anime convention venue that day were actually ideal—huge glass curtain walls brought abundant diffuse light, paired with polished stone floors that happened to capture clear reflections of the character and props, adding a lot to the shot. During shooting, the biggest difficulty with this look wasn't the garment tailoring, but those two chain whip blade props with pink cords. To maintain a lovely, natural hanging curve for the chains in front of the lens, arm height and spacing had to be adjusted constantly; with even slightly larger movements, the pink cords would tangle with the blades, heavily testing on-site positioning and holding capacity.

When directing positioning, photographer Xie Xiu emphasized low-angle shooting. This perspective not only maximized leg line extension, but paired with champagne strappy high-heeled sandals, it also faithfully recreated the character's agile yet sharp combat posture in NARAKA: BLADEPOINT. Of course, standing for hours at the anime convention in fine high heels was quite an endurance test for soles and calves. The outfit itself features a slightly pearlescent white composite fabric, which generated subtle luster layers under top lighting and side umbrella lights. Cutouts around the waist and hips, along with a fixed golden 3D rose, served as excellent visual anchors in this pure white ensemble, avoiding monotony from large white areas.

Between shots, I observed the surroundings; ground reflections played a great supporting role throughout the set, not only mirroring shoe soles and foot lines, but even casting faint trailing shadows of the prop's pink chains on the glossy floor. To present the character's multi-angle presence, we tried several static poses—including single-hand suspended weapons and dual-arm spreading—aiming to create tension-filled geometric lines with the props that matched her combat posture. Blurred passersby, booth light poles, and tourists accidentally entering the background preserved an authentic dynamic convention feel without over-segmenting backgrounds or over-smoothing skin, keeping that vivid authenticity unique to on-site shots.

I had previously shot this look in a closed indoor studio, but a bright, open venue like World Line Anime Convention captured a bright yet cool texture better suited to the character's mysterious, decisive style. The wig had bangs and ends trimmed in layers, while black nail polish created a strong tonal contrast with pink weapons—small preparations aimed at elevating character completion. In final photo details, black-and-pink patterns on the blade edges and fine wrist accessories are clearly visible, proving the photographer's solid focus control. Though convention photos involve high crowd mobility, capturing clean compositions and expressions in complex lighting showcases true camera skill. Refining wig and props repeatedly takes effort, but seeing these personal-style convention photos makes all the preparation worthwhile. I hope this set shows everyone Zai Ji's multifaceted charm in a real-world setting.
