This Pose reference shoot for Tachibana Nozomi's Gymnastics uniform from Blue Archive focused on capturing youthful energy and dynamic charm within an everyday campus setting. We chose a classroom equipped with grey-and-white lockers and wooden desks, using essential schoolhouse elements to match the character's persona.
Controlling fine details was essential throughout the session. Costume-wise, the white short-sleeved top paired with navy gym shorts and over-the-knee White stockings formed a classic color contrast that looked wonderfully textured under diffused lighting, naturally becoming the visual centerpiece. Referencing the Highlander Twins motif during breaks also inspired varied body postures beyond standard upright stances.
For pose direction, desks and chairs were utilized to sculpt flattering lines. Perching sideways along a desk edge with one leg draped naturally and the other lightly bent created an asymmetrical contour that visually elongated the legs, while the White stockings formed organic micro-folds along the joint flexes. When seated on a black folding chair, keeping the torso upright with a subtle waist twist paired with fingers touching the cheek softened posture stiffness, highlighting sleek curves from the front.
The setup demanded precise lighting, combining soft front fill with subtle rim light to keep skin tones radiant and avoid harsh one-sided shadows. Props like a scooter and a basketball scattered in the background added depth across the foreground and background. Shifting weight into forward leans or single-leg kicks broke up stationary lines, while framing seated angles at 45 degrees minimized compression along the thighs to maintain sleek leg contours. Refining these postures offered valuable practical insights for capturing this genre of cosplay.
