[Yidhari cosplay] Live photo return from Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo for Zenless Zone Zero

Over these past few days at Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo, I've been wearing this Yidhari look throughout the event. Today I finally found time to sort through this set of live photos to share my thoughts on cosplaying her this time.

What drew me most to the entire look was the black-and-white off-shoulder top combined with black shorts trimmed with bright yellow lace; the crisp tailoring and vibrant color blocking fit the character's overall texture perfectly. I especially want to mention the huge pale-purple tail behind me, which has a dedicated internal support skeleton—while not entirely weightless, walking with it added a visually fluffy and whimsical charm. The long-handled staff prop in hand was the true centerpiece of the outfit: with its purple spiral top and the massive dark-purple circular mechanical device at the base, whether held in hand or resting against the floor, it gave my overall aura a commanding weight.

For accessory details, I chose asymmetrical black-and-white spliced stockings with top garter straps, which visually emphasized leg proportions. Wearing black patent leather platform block heels provided height that made my posture taller while perfectly matching the character's cool and fierce demeanor. To pair with these mechanical and fantasy elements, the makeup specifically used purplish-red eyeshadow smudging to echo the purple tones of the staff and tail, while the lips featured a deep red matte shade, making the skin tone look translucent and textured under high-definition lenses.

Wearing this gear at Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo was indeed a test of stamina and balance. The long staff prop was quite conspicuous, requiring constant attention to surrounding movement in crowded areas to avoid bumping into other visitors or equipment. However, the venue's interior lighting for Cosplay photography was extremely clear and bright; combined with the depth of background pillars and glass curtain walls, it created that distinct sense of space unique to convention settings. For posing, I primarily chose side-turned postures and slight leg lifts, which fully showcased the layered waist accessories and mismatched stockings while keeping the weapon and tail neatly arranged in frame without blocking each other.

From styling the wig's curly bangs to positioning circular badge decorations on the outfit and detailing the spray paint on the purple mechanical staff, this costume underwent multiple adjustments beforehand. Although shooting among surging crowds at the convention while bearing all these props was no easy task, appearing before everyone as a beloved character and vividly restoring every design element in reality was deeply meaningful to me. Sorting through these photos brings back that vivid atmosphere, and I hope this set of return photos conveys the dedication I poured into this 2D look.
