[Lynette Cosplay] Magician from Genshin Impact, Ready for the Show!

The magic show is about to begin! Stepping into the convention lights in this Lynette Cosplay outfit, I immediately felt like the center of focus on stage. From deciding to cosplay this character to actual execution, it took quite a bit of prep time, especially since the details of this Magician costume truly tested my patience. The blue and black dress hem is covered with star and cat silhouette prints, accented with gold piping and metal chains, creating a feel that is both mysterious like a magician and playful like a catgirl. The white wig took several styling attempts on the bangs and sideburns to achieve a fluffy, natural look that frames the face nicely. Combined with those fluffy cat ears and tail, I couldn't help but unconsciously mimic a cat's stride while walking around.

For makeup this time, I intentionally emphasized the eye contours and selected light purple colored contacts to make my gaze look a bit more languid. The red five-pointed star under my left eye was the finishing touch; I repeatedly adjusted its angle while drawing to ensure it wouldn't look crooked on camera. My nails were also painted aqua blue, perfectly matching the teacup set. Speaking of teacups, the blue-green cup in the picture was actually a prop I hunted down specifically. I practiced the posture of holding the teacup multiple times to balance hand elegance with expression control without looking stiff. The cat paw gesture in Photo 2 was actually improvised on the spot; the photographer said it fit the character's whimsical trait better, and the shot indeed turned out much livelier than just standing still.

Convention lighting can be quite messy, but we were lucky to find a corridor corner where the marble floor and warm yellow lighting matched wonderfully. Side lighting brought out both the white hair texture and shiny dress material clearly. The photographer kept crouching on the ground to find angles, testing over a dozen positions to capture the full spread of the skirt hem and the natural curve of the tail. The black handbag in Photo 3 was also specially selected; its cat pattern inside the gold frame matched the dress's subtle prints as a set. Holding the bag while turning slightly made the entire character styling feel complete.

Honestly, cosplaying with such a gorgeous dress presents the biggest challenge in maintaining energy and posture over a long time. Conventions are crowded, and skirt hems easily get stepped on, so movements must be controlled just right. Moreover, the corset part of this dress was quite tight, making breathing a bit restricted after shooting for a while, but enduring it was totally worth it for great photos. During the shoot, several passersby asked to take photos together; in that moment, I really felt like I had turned into that magician performing on the streets of Fontaine. Though only for a brief few hours, that immersive Cosplay photography experience was truly magical.

For post-processing, I didn't do any exaggerated liquefying or skin smoothing, mainly unifying skin tones and light-shadow atmospheres toward a cooler blue tint to evoke a slightly tipsy backstage theater feel. After all, the authenticity of cosplay lies in restoring the character's spirit rather than piling on post-processing. From costume to handmade accessories, from makeup styling to shooting, every step had my heart poured into it. Receiving these Convention photos made me feel truly satisfied. Given the chance next time, I'd love to try a shoot outdoors under the sunlight with her cat bag for a different vibe.
