[Hoshimi Miyabi Cosplay] The Hunter of Zenless Zone Zero, Controlling Light and Shadow Tonight

First time attempting to use a flashlight as the key light for hard lighting—this lighting technique's ability to sculpt shadows is exceptionally strong, instantly transforming a convention floor vibe into a tense, combat-ready dark zone. This Hoshimi Miyabi cosplay outfit looked even crispier and more structured when worn than expected; the layering between the blue-green coat and the black-and-white inner garments finally emerged vividly under intense light. The center of gravity of the prop katana felt comfortable and well-balanced, making it effortless to hold in one hand or rest on my shoulder. The biggest challenge was actually maintaining a composed expression while wearing plush beast ears, as a direct light beam into my eyes easily triggered blinking. Standing for most of the day in tights and short boots, my leg muscle lines ended up projecting a stronger sense of power before the lens. Many asked where this scene was shot—it was actually just an ordinary hall wall at Firefly ACG Expo, utilizing a single flashlight and precise positioning to slice out that exact cold, decisive visual aura. Communicating with the photographer multiple times regarding light projection angles paid off, yielding light and shadow relationships better than anticipated. Since portraying a character from Zenless Zone Zero, the aloof aura and steady hand gestures had to match; luckily, I had practiced blade-holding stances beforehand. When shooting characters with props and mechanical elements in Cosplay photography, the biggest fear is improper hand and weapon placement shifting the frame's center of gravity. This photo set fully captured the techwear functional vibe of this Anime-style clothing, alongside the sleek, professional combat style of a crisp white shirt and black tie. Documenting this tactical light-and-shadow technique served as a fantastic extra reward from this expo.
