This time I'm shooting Zhuang Fangyi from Arknights: Endfield. Before shooting this finished photoset, I spent a long time studying the costume structure and prop details from the original artwork. The feeling after actually putting it on was quite different from what I expected, and the overall styling boasts extremely rich layering.
Let's talk about the costume part first. The upper body features a silver-gray and black spliced corset paired with red straps and metal accessories. When wearing it, the tightness in various places needed to be adjusted to present the most form-fitting effect. The lower body is a bright green split long skirt paired with black leggings underneath; the combination of the skirt hem and trousers creates a wonderful sense of dynamics when walking. The red horn-like decorations and pointed elf ears on the head are key highlights of the styling, with delicate golden hair accessories hanging beside the ears. Combined with a straight black wig featuring blunt bangs, the character's temperament immediately came to life after finishing the makeup. Wearing black long gloves on the hands and black boots with golden edges on the feet, the layered look of the entire outfit is exceptionally solid.
Regarding the prop, this huge green weapon was definitely the biggest challenge of this shoot. Its golden geometric patterns are extremely exquisite, and the edges feature a translucent pale blue blade, carrying a substantial weight in hand. Because of its massive size, core strength was required to support it while posing, and I had to quickly put it down to rest during shoot breaks. However, seeing how well it paired with the costume in the finished photos made all this physical labor totally worth it.
The shooting location for this time is an indoor setup leaning towards an Ancient style, perfectly fitting the character's Traditional Chinese style setting. The background features a huge circular glowing backdrop board, with golden relief decorations on the walls. The site utilized a wealth of Chinese elements, such as standing lanterns, blue-and-white porcelain jars, scroll easels, and a white flower tree paired with pink peony flower arrangements. To build the atmosphere, artificial smoke was released on-site, with dry ice vapor spreading across the ground, coordinated with warm-yellow lighting, giving the entire space an exceptionally strong sense of immersion.
The shooting process heavily tested physical stamina and attention to detail. Every single photo required balancing the hand's sword-holding posture, the unfolded state of the costume, and the expression of the eyes. Special thanks here go to the photographer Boyu Xiaoxingtong, who patiently helped me find angles and captured numerous gorgeous moments. The side-glance back-turning and bench-sitting compositions are full of tension.
This Zhuang Fangyi cosplay finished photoset attempt, from costume replication and prop making to the presentation of the scene atmosphere, was a truly special experience. I hope everyone can feel Zhuang Guandai's unique temperament through this photo set.
