Putting on this Moon Tide Star Veil outfit for The Shorekeeper, I've truly experienced the ethereal feel of this skin.
When I first saw the concept art, what attracted me most was the combination of the headpiece and the veils, but after actually putting it on, I realized the tailoring of the entire costume is highly sophisticated. For instance, those gradient blues in the main part are not just a simple stacking of fabrics; the sheer gauze on the shoulders and arms has a very rich sense of layering, and when walking or when a gentle breeze blows by, the fluttering trajectories of those veils look absolutely beautiful. The large bow element on the back is also a highlight, pretty much holding up the entire contour of the outfit.
To match The Shorekeeper's temperament as closely as possible, I intentionally picked this ice-blue style for the wig this time; the hair strands are mixed with some subtle shimmers, presenting a shimmering, sparkling effect under the studio lights. The hairstyle managed the layers of the bangs so it wouldn't look too heavy. For the makeup, I chose to echo the look with blue-toned colored contacts to enhance the character's aloofness. The eyeshadow used a combination of light blue and pinkish-orange, which not only unifies with the overall colors but also makes the gaze appear relatively soft. The lip color chose a near-natural peach tone, preventing it from looking too pale amidst the cool-toned attire.
During the shoot, we specially set up a clean, pure blue-and-purple gradient background. Actually, when shooting characters with this kind of ethereal style, the cleanliness of the background is vital; if it's too cluttered, it will overshadow the design of the costume itself. This time, we brought a few lights with different color temperatures to complement it, trying to capture the transparency of the costume's gauze surface and the luster of the fabric. During post-processing editing, the skin's original texture and grain were preserved, with the focus placed on color harmony—mainly adjusting the saturation of blues and whites to make the frame look like deep blue seawater blending with pale white moonlight.
The design of the character The Shorekeeper truly fits the image of an aloof character in my mind, and this Moon Tide Star Veil set perfectly combines elegance and dreaminess. From grooming the wig to wearing the costume, and finally to the output of the photos, the energy invested in every single step feels completely worth it. Being able to put my heart into recreating a beloved character and presenting the photos brings a profound sense of achievement to me. This set is also part of my submission for the Wuthering Waves Creator Program, and I hope you all love it!
