Today, I completed this apocalyptic ark-themed photoshoot at @No. 81 Photography Studio. Cosplaying Kal'tsit from Arknights this time, the stylized concept set within a wasteland environment brought immense dramatic tension. The studio set design clearly took tremendous effort: on the left stood a massive transparent cultivation pod entwined with moss and greenery, which, combined with cables scattered across metal tread-plate flooring, immediately hit you with a rush of industrial techwear grit the moment you stepped inside.
In terms of costume, the fabric splicing of this outfit is exceptionally rich. The top incorporates glossy accents, zippers, and wide arm sleeves, while the chest detailing and green typographic strap prints offer instant character recognition. To complement the outfit, I paired it with Black stockings (tights) and chunky-heeled ankle boots, which not only elongated the leg lines, but also provided solid stability when posing atop wooden crates. Under the interplay of warm and cool studio lighting, the plush texture of the feline ears and the silvery-white wig took on rich, three-dimensional depth.
Speaking of the shooting process, the lighting in this scene truly tested precise environmental control. The key light came from the rear right to trace out sharp rim contours, working in tandem with the natural light filtering through the windows to create a theatrical interplay of warm and cool tones. The photographer provided generous compositional space, allowing me plenty of creative freedom. When sitting on the metal crate with legs crossed, I kept my posture relaxed while maintaining that cool, unwavering intensity in my gaze. For close-up portraits, subtle hand gestures and a slight tilt of the head added narrative depth to the frames, looking straight into the lens to convey the character's signature unflinching composure.
This overgrown post-apocalyptic aesthetic harmonized brilliantly with my techwear outfit. The raw, gritty metal textures formed a striking contrast with the vibrant botanical life; reviewing the photos during selection, the richness of the light and shadow was immensely satisfying. We explored a wide array of angles during this shoot—from wide shots packed with visual tension to intimate close-ups capturing nuanced emotion—all perfectly aligning with my original vision. The atmosphere on set was wonderful and the studio's detailed craftsmanship brought the envisioned doomsday ark to life flawlessly. I look forward to exploring more set styles and shooting techniques in the future.
