This photo series primarily aimed to convey a sense of serenity for Theresa in her Demon Lord form. On the day of the shoot, we chose a natural Sea of flowers filled with daisies, surrounded by rough, dark-gray rocks that created excellent light-and-dark contrast. To make the reclining pose appear natural, we layered numerous supportive cushions beneath the White dress, which were meticulously edited out in post-processing—a rather time-consuming task. The costume is a custom-made White dress with a beautiful, heavy drape; while lying down, the positioning of the folds required constant readjustment to ensure the skirt's shape remained pristine in frame. The light pink wig stood out vividly amidst the Sea of flowers.
The low-angle perspective was quite challenging: to expand the horizon of the sky and the Sea of flowers, I had to keep my neck strained and tilted, leaving my neck quite sore after extended shooting, but seeing the rich depth of light and shadow in the final photos made it completely worthwhile. Since random gusts of wind couldn't be controlled on location and blew hair unpredictably, shutter timing relied heavily on the photographer's quick captures. Post-processing was handled by editor Yangcun Cunba Xiyangyang after extensive communication. The raw lighting was somewhat flat, so to accentuate the supernatural aura of the Demon Lord form, the editor deliberately added glowing pink-and-white lines curving around the figure, infusing the frame with dynamic energy. The scattered petals in the air were also composited in post-production, which offered far better control than throwing real petals and preserved the overall dark, moody atmosphere.
Throughout the shoot, I continuously immersed myself in the character's inner essence; the stark juxtaposition between rigid, cold rocks and the gentle Sea of flowers felt deeply evocative. The bouquet was also prepared intentionally; holding it naturally covered part of the chest, enriching the poetic mood. For lighting, we used strobes to shine through the White dress against the shadowy rock background, lending the subject a luminous, translucent glow. This was a wonderful experience and served as a personal synthesis of my interpretation of Theresa's Demon Lord form.
