This late October Shenzhen outdoor photoshoot project features Nana from To Love Ru. Since the weather in Shenzhen finally cools down a bit during this season, wearing this outfit for an outdoor photoshoot will be much more comfortable.
For the clothing, we prepared the classic white shirt, yellow knitted vest, and green plaid pleated skirt. The bow tie is light grayish-green, and the wig is Nana's signature pink. To recreate the character's liveliness, we refined many details. In the photos, we tried three different leg pairings: pure white short socks, black pantyhose, and black over-the-knee long socks. The addition of black stockings not only adds visual layering but also better shapes the leg lines, making the overall look closer to the character's temperament. I personally prefer the pairing of black pantyhose with thick-soled brown leather shoes, which turns out wonderfully in classroom-style backgrounds.
Currently, three of us are going together, and we need a photographer who can handle outdoor photoshoots and formal photo sets. In late October in Shenzhen, the sunlight is relatively soft, making it suitable for capturing scenes with a strong everyday feel. If it's an indoor classroom setting, I hope to capture a youthfully vibrant and energetic atmosphere. Regarding lighting, I hope to use natural light as much as possible, or use a softbox to simulate light coming through the window to avoid harsh shadows.
During my own preparation, I carefully looked at some original art and anime screenshots of Nana from To Love Ru; her movements have a relatively wide range and her expressions are very rich. Therefore, during the shoot, I hope to capture some dynamic moments, such as jumping, looking back, or waving gestures, rather than just standing and posing statically. For this shoot, we also prepared props like black headphone cords; these small items can make the frame richer.
I am still looking at outdoor locations. If there are suitable campus-style outdoor locations or indoor venues with floor-to-ceiling windows, everyone is welcome to recommend them. The time in late October is quite flexible, and both weekends or weekdays work. If there are photographers skilled in the 2D style or fellow fans who love Nana, we can discuss the specific details of the shoot together, such as storyboards and location choices. I hope we can successfully shoot this formal set and have fun together.
