This time, to properly portray Caren C. Hortensia's 11th Anniversary CE from Fate/Grand Order, a lot of thought went into the early preparations. The classic red, blue, and white color scheme of this outfit looks simple, but the pattern and tailoring are actually extremely meticulous. To make the drape of the dark blue long skirt look more natural, I specifically made multiple adjustments around the waistband to ensure that the skirt's shape still looks great while walking or carrying props. The light blue and purple floral embroidery along the edge of the skirt is truly exquisite in workmanship, and the texture is fully on point during close-up shots. Regarding the hairstyle, to recreate that cold vibe, I trimmed this silver-white long wig for a long time, especially the curves of the blunt bangs and sideburns—they needed to lie flat without looking too rigid, and once blown messy by the wind, they had to be quickly fixed with hairspray.
The shooting environment on the day was outdoors, and the weather was fantastic; blue skies, white clouds, and large areas of blooming hydrangeas made it practically a natural studio. However, the actual shooting really tested physical strength and concentration. For example, in the shots by the water, to step correctly on the stones to maintain balance while also showing the character's aloof vibe, my core muscles had to stay constantly engaged. When shooting in the sea of flowers, the hardest part was finding camera angles for fear of crushing those beautiful flowers, so we constantly had to look for angles with extreme care.
The long-handled prop in hand was heavier than expected. When carrying it on my shoulder or holding it with one hand, I had to constantly pay attention to wrist force, otherwise the posture in the photos wouldn't look tall and upright. Although the beginning of the post mentioned that today's Kyudo practice was hard work, I am actually still finding that sharp feel; the poses holding the long-handled weapon in the photos are just to get into the zone, and the real archery actions will be saved for the next part to show everyone! While walking on the stone slab path carrying the prop, sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting light spots on the white short-sleeve shirt and the red fabric belt, maximizing the atmospheric vibe.
Throughout the shooting process, the cooperation with the photographer @铁板鱿鱼人 was extremely tacit. To catch those moments when the breeze blew the red ribbons, we tried repeatedly several times. Aside from taking beautiful pictures, I also hope everyone can feel the unique elegant yet somewhat distant temperament characteristic of this CE. During shooting breaks, seeing those large clusters of hydrangeas genuinely put me in a great mood, which also helped relieve the fatigue of high-intensity posing. That's all for the location behind-the-scenes and feature photos this time; after recharging, I will continue to share more photos and action details from different perspectives!
