This combination of a light blue doll-collar short-sleeved shirt and a white pleated skirt belongs to a very classic and refreshing everyday design. The small white round collar focuses the upper body's visual center on the neck area, which, together with the light blue base color, presents a clean and translucent effect against a pure white background. To match the character setting, white over-the-knee socks and red-and-white buckle Mary Jane shoes were specially added. This red, white, and blue color-blocking is not only photogenic at conventions and studio shoots, but also highly recognizable in daily life, delivering a strong visual vibe of an anime Campus style character.
For the wig, a light white-to-purple gradient style was chosen. This hair color displays exceptionally well under real lighting, preventing pure white from overexposing under studio lights and losing layer definition. The straight bangs were trimmed neatly, which, paired with blue contact lenses, beautifully recreated that clear yet slightly cool gaze. The pair of white horn ornaments on top of the head is fixed to a black headband, requiring careful angle adjustments during shooting to ensure they don't look awkward in both front and side close-ups.
During the studio photoshoot, the biggest challenge was coordinating props with body language. For example, the red hard-shell randoseru backpack on my back carries a certain weight and thickness; on one hand, I had to ensure the shoulder straps wouldn't slip, and on the other, I needed to make sure the black bead-like hair accessories on the back of my body weren't squashed or deformed. For seated poses, I overlapped my hands on my thighs—a pose that naturally elongates leg lines, while the White tights cosplay element served as a visual extension in front shots, making legs look even sleeker. I also specifically hung a purple plush ball on the side of the chair as an accent; such small props break up the color monotony of a pure white space, making the frame much more vibrant.
For makeup, I opted for a lightweight approach focused on enhancing complexion. The base makeup was kept as matte as possible to avoid harsh reflections, as studio lighting has high reflectivity and shiny or oily base makeup can look greasy. The eyebrows were drawn relatively flat, which, paired with reddish lip color, neutralized the aloof feel of blue contact lenses to emanate a youthful, adorable, and innocent trait suitable for Lolita photography.
Many people might think this kind of clean and simple studio shoot is relatively easy, but in front of a monotonous solid-color background, the model needs body language even more to generate tension in the frame. For instance, leaning slightly forward with an outstretched hand while standing, or looking back over the shoulder, requires good control over facial expressions and shoulder relaxation to avoid stiff postures. During close-up shots, special attention must be paid to collar details, ensuring the white collar doesn't flip outward or fold, as this minimalist style prioritizes neatness of detail above all.
From selecting hairstyles and securing horn accessories to matching the red backpack and simulating school vibes in front of desks and chairs, every moment reflected my understanding and closeness to the character. I am very satisfied with the final result—especially with the support of minimalist composition and a pure white background, the outfit colors, wig textures, and accessory details were faithfully recorded, reflecting a quality as if being right inside an anime's daily life.
