[Cartethyia Cosplay] Elf Girl in Wuthering Waves: A Delightful Gap Moe with Glasses

This time I prepared a cosplay outfit packed with details yet feeling very crisp and refreshing to wear. The overall material and tailoring were actually quite a test for the venue's lighting setup. The outfit itself uses large areas of white and black as a base, with the most eye-catching feature being the light blue vine embroidery across the chest. Paired with a halter-neck design, it offered great dimensional depth and light refraction under convention lights. Black cinched waist structures on both sides, combined with airy blue-and-white gradient ribbons, added a touch of flowing agility to this relatively sleek look.

Partnering with photographer @晨昏光影, we decided to try a playful interaction, which is the effect seen in Photo 2 where I put on glasses. The first photo features the clean original setting, allowing a clearer look at the overall makeup and ear accessories; after putting on black-rimmed glasses in the second picture, it instantly added a touch of office-chic gap moe and intellectual charm, a variation I personally loved. I chose the first image for the cover because it most intuitively displays the character's core, unobscured expression and styling, with facial contours and elf ears perfectly centered and relaxed in the frame without edge-cropping issues.

Regarding styling details, the most painstaking element was the pointed elf ears prop. To ensure they fit naturally over my ear contours upon wearing, I used special adhesive patches and invisible fixation cords, keeping them secure even when navigating crowded convention halls. The black diamond mark in the center of the forehead is also one of the character's signature elements; drawing it symmetrically with liquid eyeliner took considerable effort during makeup. Combined with bright blue contact lenses and pale golden braided wig, looking in the mirror the moment makeup was finished gave me an immediate sense of immersion.

The convention venue background was filled with expo atmosphere. Although rows of dense round ceiling lights created high contrast for photography, they happened to endow the images with a cool, sharp texture. Backgrounds show blurry photographers and equipment reflecting a bustling crowd, but once focused on the camera, I could instantly pull my state back to the character. I specially used setting spray on the wig because light-colored strands can easily look frizzy or messy, especially while moving or posing, where even a tiny stray hair affects overall refinement, so I combed and prepped it repeatedly before heading out.

Because the neckline and halter design of this cosplay outfit were relatively open, makeup requirements emphasized clarity and luminosity. I highlighted high points and eye makeup so facial features remained three-dimensional regardless of changing ambient light. During shooting, I maintained a smile balancing agile vitality with a hint of distant reserve, fitting the character's mysterious, elegant, yet lively personality. Passing fans offered friendly glances, and every time my effort was recognized, it made all the preparation and hassle feel entirely worthwhile.

Honestly, running around a convention in thin fabric while wearing heavy wigs and accessories consumes huge physical energy. But the moment the camera snaps and freezes time, seeing myself fully embody the character in my heart brings a sense of accomplishment that dissolves all exhaustion. Every outfit possesses its unique soul, and as Cosers, our role is to transform 2D elements from flat designs into real, tangible forms in the 3D world—this is my way of expressing love for characters and works.
