This Arknights Holy Listening First Snow cosplay photoshoot took place at the outdoor grounds of the National Expo. The heavy foot traffic at 4 PM definitely posed quite a challenge for shooting, with dense crowds filling the background. To tackle this environment, the photographer established a clear direction on the spot, saying that as long as the face looks great, the angle doesn't matter as much—the key is capturing expressions and emotional nuances. Thus, the entire set consists mainly of close-ups and half-body portraits. The purple top paired with the breezy blue shawl looked fantastic in the sunlight. The silver-white wig combined with fluffy Animal ears, the sapphire forehead ornament, and the brown belt and wooden bead necklace created rich, dimensional layers. However, with so many people outdoors, smoothing out the skirt hem and finding clear gaps free of photobombers took quite some time. The brown boots were very comfortable for walking, and the tassels along the skirt swayed gracefully in the breeze, which, paired with the black bell prop in hand, delivered unexpectedly stunning results.
Despite the noisy shooting environment, the photographer was dedicated during close-up snapshots, repeatedly adjusting lighting and utilizing natural sunlight to capture photos brimming with expressive eye contact. The second close-up, looking straight into the lens, is my personal favorite—thanks to the photographer's mastery over aperture and background blur. Most of the time, I posed holding the bell, capturing dynamic motion when the wind caught the outer shawl. Although we didn't take many full-body shots, being able to capture such clean, beautiful close-up Convention photos amidst a crowded convention exterior is deeply satisfying. As a cosplayer in packed outdoor crowds, the most important thing is staying focused in character, coordinating with the photographer to find optimal light, and letting the character's intrinsic aura shine through the lens. The essence of Convention photos lies in recording the authentic moments of the day; while the process was tiring, seeing the finished results makes it completely worth it.
