【Aemeath Cosplay】Styling Details and Photoshoot Experience for This Wuthering Waves Character Design - Image 1

This Aemeath Cosplay costume from Wuthering Waves features numerous intricate tailoring details. The chest section is composed of white fabric, black piping, and silver metallic ornaments. When putting it on, the invisible zipper at the back must be fastened first, followed by adjusting the position of the two chest shoulder straps to prevent sagging. The blue cross-shaped pendant below the neckline connects to several clear thin straps, requiring safety pins to secure them inside the garment to keep them from shifting out of place. The long white gloves on the arms have silicone grip strips along the inner rims that must fit snugly against the skin, ensuring the fabric stays smooth without rolling down.

The lower half consists of White stockings made of thin material with a delicate sheer quality, accentuating leg contours clearly. The star-shaped leg garters on the outer thighs require tightness adjustments—too tight leaves noticeable marks, while too loose causes them to slide down. The outer skirt hem comprises multiple overlapping layers of white, blue, and gold fabrics, providing rich dimensional movement when walking or turning, though they can easily tangle and require careful untying. As a whole, the outfit is a high-slit bodysuit design that truly tests body proportions in 2D style.

For the pink wig on the head, a hairnet must be neatly pinned before securing the wig with bobby pins. The white-and-pink headpiece on top contains internal wire, allowing flexible shaping, while the red star ornament in the center needs firm hot-glue attachment. Behind the headpiece hang two slender blue ribbons, which are best sprayed with styling mist beforehand to keep a natural curve.

The shooting space was illuminated with purple-pink ambient lighting. This soft light casts a cool pink hue over the white garment, though it can introduce background noise, requiring diffusion paper behind the reflector. During the Mirror selfie session, because the mirror reflected other room elements, adjusting the frame composition took some time to keep it clean and emphasize the subject.

For the pose, holding the phone in the right hand while resting the left hand behind, shifting the body's center of gravity to one side, elongated leg lines while showcasing the hip cuts. The White stockings and leg garters stood out brightly on camera; to keep them immaculate, I made sure the gloves didn't rub against the stocking fabric. Preparation and adjustments took roughly two hours, with wear time exceeding five hours.

While adjusting the outfit, I noticed the White stockings snag easily, so lifting them required extra delicacy. Double-sided tape was applied generously along the lower back fabric edges to prevent wardrobe malfunctions. The primary light source was placed obliquely from the side, creating clear light-shadow boundaries across the white gloves and stockings to accentuate fabric texture. The mirror had some dust, which I wiped before shooting, though glass reflections are hard to avoid completely, so I selected a photo with minimal glare.

Since the phone camera has a slight wide-angle lens, standing at a set distance from the mirror and shooting slightly upward was necessary to prevent the head from looking disproportionately large. In this pose, the angle of the left hand balanced the visual center, providing a stable posture. I constantly readjusted the leg garter position, as even small movements caused it to slide toward the upper thigh.

Because it was an indoor shoot with a relatively low room temperature, wearing revealing clothing demanded ample patience. To manage this, heat pads were placed around the navel beforehand to maintain warmth between takes. However, because the garment is so form-fitting, the pad's outline subtly showed on camera, requiring specific lighting angles to conceal it.

After the shoot, the costume was soaked with sweat, but the reflection in the mirror showed great results. The biggest challenge of this outfit is the back; to highlight back lines, it leaves significant open space, relying on chest adjustments to maintain the overall garment silhouette, demanding good physical stamina. The pink wig shifted slightly in tone under purple lights, so color temperature was fine-tuned in post-processing. The bangs were sculpted with wax for added dimension, and the white hair accessories on both sides were secured with hidden bobby pins.

Considering the color palette, choosing this white-and-blue dominant costume seamlessly absorbed the purple-pink ambient light without looking gaudy. I always store the accessories carefully to prevent metallic parts from damaging the fabric. This shoot was a dedicated recreation attempt for Aemeath in Wuthering Waves; while many details can be refined further, experiencing the design philosophy of this costume was truly rewarding.
