Sunday, time to look at the little bird! As Miss Robin, the galaxy-renowned superstar of Penacony, outside the focus of numerous camera lenses, she also enjoys the fun of taking secret selfies in a quiet corner. Today is the second day of the anime convention. Taking advantage of a gap when the crowd shifted toward the main stage, I quickly ducked beside an edge hallway, picked up my phone, and snapped a couple of pictures of myself.

This outfit actually took a lot of hard work during the preparation stage. The silver-blue wig was styled to give a light, airy, and layered volume, especially the curves of the bangs and sideburns, which required styling wax to fix into a natural contour. The pinkish-purple gradient feather hair accessories on both sides of the head are the soul of the character. To simulate that soft wing texture, I specially selected lightweight feathers with special treatment to avoid flattening the wig. The deep blue pointed collar decoration paired with metallic hexagrams and bead stitching is actually heavier than it looks, but to achieve detailed accuracy, this bit of weight is completely acceptable.

For the makeup, I picked emerald green contact lenses that match the character, with reddish eyeshadow blended around the edges of the eyes to create a dreamy aura. The two side-by-side glitter stickers under my eyes instantly enhanced the lively charm of the eyes, twinkling softly under the convention hall ceiling lights. For the lipstick shade, I chose a daily orange-red tone—not too overwhelming, but perfectly balancing warm and cool tones against the cool-toned hair color.

The white plush shawl layered over the outfit not only suits the character's temperament, but also provides practical warmth in the chilly air-conditioned venue—100% utility! Underneath is a white off-the-shoulder dress with a hoop skirt; the cloud-shaped plush decoration directly in front of the neckline, paired with slightly puffy deep-purple sleeves on both sides, gives the overall outfit a gorgeous yet lightweight feel. The pearl necklace hanging around my neck sits right at the collarbone, adding depth and layers to the upper body look.

Selfie angles are actually quite tricky to manage, unlike photographers who bring fill lights and softboxes. Holding up the phone for high-angle or eye-level front-camera shots means managing expressions while avoiding background passersby and booths that steal the show. So although these three photos have a distinct style of their own, you can tell they were taken very "secretly" on the fly. Photo 2's eye-level shot shows the harmony of the outfit and the white plush shawl, while the close-ups in Photo 1 and Photo 3 highlight the details of the makeup and necklace.

Looking back, attending an anime convention is really a physical test—waking up at dawn to apply makeup and change into costumes, then hauling heavy bags back home at dusk. Behind those few glamorous seconds in front of the camera lens lie hours of preparation and bustling around. Yet, every time I see a beloved character interpreted with heart on-site, even if it's just leaving behind these casual phone selfies, I feel all the hard work is completely worth it.

Penacony's stage is always colorful, and as Robin, I hope every appearance brings everyone a pleasant surprise. Perhaps these photos taken quietly in the corner can better convey a relaxed sense of authenticity close to real life, without excessive photo editing. I have always held awe and passion for cosplay, striving to present the core essence of the character in every photoshoot rather than simply slipping on a costume.

This time, the light hair look paired with star-element accents had decent recognition throughout the venue. Passing visitors whispered about which series the character was from, and this instant feedback brought immense satisfaction and motivation. While a brighter color might have been more eye-catching, the gray ratio in the hair was adjusted just right to match the character's slightly cool yet gentle aura. All in all, this anime convention trip became incredibly fulfilling thanks to this outfit and these captured moments.
