This Sanrio collaboration look for Daji from Honor of Kings is truly an off-the-charts sweet styling. From the wavy pink curls to the bright blue contacts, to recreate that soft, cute, yet subtly alluring vibe, I specifically emphasized heavy blush blending in the makeup and used glittery shimmer on the eye makeup to enhance lively brightness. The outfit features a blue-and-pink satin maid dress packed with abundant lace and frills, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship across the chest and cuffs. In particular, the massive gradient plush tail behind me carries significant weight in addition to its sheer volume—the moment I put it on, I felt instantly transformed into the poster girl of a dessert parlor. The beast ear headpiece atop my head and the little mascot plushies nestled within the ribbons are standout highlights of this look.
During shooting, because the costume is crafted from lustrous satin, lighting demands were quite stringent. To avoid large blown-out highlights on the dress, we utilized softboxes and diffused bounce boards for balanced illumination, preserving the fabric's refractive sheen across different angles. The skirt hem has many tiers, and combined with the tail's heft, poses that are normally effortless required strong core engagement to keep balanced. To highlight the tail's fluffiness, the photographer experimented from various angles while I adjusted my stance, resulting in the profile backward glance and foreground ribbon framing in the final photos that kept the composition from looking static.
Collaborating with Su Vision Photography for this shoot, immense care went into the indoor studio set. To complement the outfit's ethereal charm, we gathered numerous macarons, cupcakes, balloons, and ribbons. The floor macaron props and cupcakes echoed the outfit's palette, enriching chromatic depth. Suspended pink and blue ribbons added dynamic motion, while dessert props scattered across the floor maxed out the visual atmosphere. During breaks, holding those miniature sweet props almost tempted me to take a bite, as the setup looked uncannily like a bakery window display.
To boost interactive engagement, I tried gently touching the floating ribbons or folding my hands in front of me, communicating with the lens through my eyes. Blending Sanrio elements with Daji's intrinsic coquettish charm created a wondrous chemical reaction. Donning the full ensemble was certainly intricate with its myriad accessories; properly securing the beast ears and tweaking the tail's angle alone consumed plenty of time. Yet seeing the final results on the monitor—with that creamy color texture and the dreamy aura of sitting amidst a sea of sweets—made every bit of preparation feel thoroughly worthwhile. In the midst of busy daily routines, I hope catching a glimpse of these pink-and-blue dessert visuals brings everyone a touch of healing warmth.
