[Klee Cosplay] Hangzhou AP Wrap-Up: Daily Life of Genshin Impact's Spark Knight

Jumpty Dumpty! This Hangzhou AP trip was indeed tight on time, but immensely fulfilling. As the Spark Knight from Genshin Impact, the outfit and props prepared this time underwent several trial adjustments before setting out. In particular, the large red folding ruffle hat took a long time to adjust internally so it remained fluffy and upright without blocking my line of sight during convention walks. The blonde blunt-bangs wig required thoughtful trimming; to capture the character's childlike agility, edges were smoothed softly. Putting on red contact lenses brought instant vitality to my face.

Delivering such crisp Convention photos is all thanks to my wonderful friend photographer—shoutout to Princess Xiangxiang for capturing that exact moment! This shot was taken in a well-lit area of the venue, where the lens's shallow depth of field beautifully softened the background, bringing out the black lace trim on the white shirt, the red chest ribbon with its gold pendant, and the black fingerless gloves on my hands. Presenting such fine details on social media heavily relies on precise lighting and sharp focus from the photographer, making the image quality reassuringly solid.

Let's talk about the overall convention experience. Hangzhou AP draws huge crowds every year, and navigating the venue in this attire attracted plenty of attention. Many fellow fans recognized the iconic color scheme and wide-brimmed hat right away, often stopping to offer small gifts or request photos. That face-to-face interactive atmosphere is irreplaceable online. Regarding the costume, the wide red girdle with dual belt buckles provided great waist-shaping structure, though standing for long periods got a bit tight; yet for character fidelity, these small compromises were completely worth it. Ruffled cuffs on the white shirt combined with red ties added wonderful visual dynamism with every wave of my hand.

Interesting episodes unfolded during the event. For example, bumping into other characters from the same franchise in the main hall led to group photos, creating a fun cross-dimensional synergy. My wig got bumped askew in crowded streams several times, but thankfully I carried a small comb and styling spray, restoring it with quick touch-ups. I also noticed the large red hat provided surprisingly good shade, filtering out harsh overhead venue lighting and softening facial fill light so I didn't need to force specific poses.

A wide-aperture lens was used for this shoot, rendering clear depth of field where background booths and passersby melted into soft color bokeh. This focused visual weight entirely on facial expressions and garment details. Black gloves played a significant role in hand gestures, whether clasping near the collar or resting naturally. Many friends asked about wearing time; from morning makeup prep to evening departure, I wore it for nearly six to seven hours. Exhausting as it was, seeing the final pictures made every effort worthwhile.

Understanding the Spark Knight, what touches me most is her pure innocence and drive. Complex poses aren't required—a simple gaze and smile, or a winding up posture to throw a bomb, conveys her core character. Sorting through raw files post-convention, I reviewed my makeup workflow: a light matte base with muted lip saturation complemented eye makeup focused on red contact lenses and natural eyeliner, while subtle shading beneath the lower lip accentuated a compact face shape.
