It took more than half a month from preparation to the official shooting for this Barbara cosplay outfit. This time playing Barbara, I wanted to restore the character's energetic yet healing idol vibe as much as possible. After getting the final photos, the overall visual effect indeed met my expectations.

Let's talk about the details of makeup, styling, and clothing first. The wig chosen this time is light golden long curly hair down to the waist. I spent a lot of time on styling, especially trimming the arcs of the bangs and sideburns to get as close to the original art as possible. The twintails part needed to maintain fluffiness, so a few soft pads were used for support, paired with white bow hair accessories, making the overall look lighter and cuter. The eye makeup can be said to be the highlight; to highlight Barbara's bright and clear feel, I chose large-diameter brownish-gray contact lenses, slightly lowered the eyeliner treatment, and added natural false eyelashes to make the eyes look rounder and more vibrant. The base makeup remains clean and translucent, the lip color uses a watery peach shade, and the overall makeup direction is age-reducing and fresh.

In terms of clothing, this outfit has a relatively strong sense of layering. The blue and white off-the-shoulder dress features white lace trimming at the neckline, a dark blue bow tie, and a golden cross badge on the chest. To increase the three-dimensional sense of actions, I deliberately adjusted the tightness of the brown belt at the waist before the shoot, and checked the cross patterns on the edge of the skirt and the blue vortex accessories to ensure every detail was clearly presented in front of the lens. Since the clothes themselves have quite a few metallic-textured decorations, I also communicated with the photographer during lighting to use soft light as much as possible to avoid losing texture due to reflection.

During the shooting process, to fit Barbara's professional setting as a deaconess and idol of Mondstadt, I kept adjusting my posture. Unlike shooting other characters usually, this time I tried to maintain a straight yet relaxed posture. In terms of action design, I mostly used poses with hands crossed on the chest, or one hand gently brushing the hair, paired with a slightly angled profile to show the character's approachability. In expression management, I kept a natural smile, kept my gaze gently straight at the camera, and occasionally opened my eyes slightly wider to create the character's innocent and lively side.

The shooting scene this time was chosen to be an indoor dessert shop with a bright overall color tone. The black-and-white polka dot tablecloths and various desserts in the shop created a wonderful visual contrast with my blue-and-white colored clothing. This daily-life-like scene also added a lot of everyday feel to the frames. During shooting breaks, I could even taste the desserts on the table by the way, making the shooting state become more natural.

For cosplay, costumes and props are just the foundation; what truly brings a character to life is the performance of actions and demeanor. During studio or location shoots, observing the light more, communicating details with the photographer, and timely adjusting the wrinkles of clothes and the direction of the wig are all keys to increasing the photo-output rate. This time the preparation was relatively sufficient, so the whole process went very smoothly. From wig trimming, makeup design, to the adjustment of clothing accessories, every step took a lot of thought, and the final presented effect can be considered an account of my hard work during this period.
