Diving straight into the details. This JK uniform version of Keqing took quite a bit of effort in terms of makeup, hair styling, and outfit coordination. For the wig, I selected a long, light-purple style with subtle wavy texture. The cat-ear buns on top were reinforced with inner supports to keep them three-dimensional without collapsing, and the little star-crown hairpin was carefully angled to catch reflections under the sun. For makeup, purple-red eyeshadow gradients enlarged the eye contours alongside false lashes, complemented by a true-red lip tint to mirror her crisp, capable yet subtly playful personality. Wardrobe-wise, the classic black blazer has a sharp silhouette over a pure white dress shirt; the purple plaid bowtie at the collar is the crowning touch, harmonizing with the purple plaid pleated skirt below. To introduce visual contrast, semi-sheer black pantyhose Stockings and platform lace-up leather shoes with metallic buckles elongated leg lines while grounding the coordinate in an anime-inspired everyday casual aesthetic.
The shoot was held outdoors on a riverside bridge under fantastic weather. Sunlight bathed the pale stone paving, turning natural daylight into the best possible reflector. Seated on the stone ledge beside the railing, the river and distant cityscape behind created an ideal backdrop for a candid slice-of-life look. To highlight the styling, I angled my body with one leg gently extended and the other relaxed, giving the lens a clean view of bodily proportions and the smooth texture of the pantyhose. Hand placements remained effortless—either resting lightly on the skirt hem or tucking hair behind the ear—shifting from contemplative downward glances to direct eye contact to evoke diverse moods. The photographer cleverly used the linear perspective of the metal railings to add depth, while crisp cast shadows on the pavement gave each frame dimensional texture. In color grading, exposure was lifted slightly to keep the purples luminous and clean while preserving the fine sheer texture of the black Stockings.
This look preserves Keqing's signature traits while feeling grounded in everyday style. Catching these moments as the river breeze swept past yielded wonderful results. Throughout the session, I thought about how to balance Keqing's decisive composure with her girlish charm. The JK uniform brings youthful school vibes, while the blazer adds a touch of formality. Snapping candid moments as the breeze caught strands of hair gave the composition organic motion rather than rigid stiffness. Because we shot in a public space, angles were framed to avoid pedestrian clutter, using the railings and open river to keep the frames clean and immersive.
