With an incredibly packed itinerary spanning ChinaJoy and Bilibili World (BW), I was thrilled to complete photoshoots for two entirely different styles at the Nikon booth. As a regular model at the Nikon booth, the synergy with photographers on stage flowed seamlessly; everyone was generous in praising my camera awareness, resulting in high shooting efficiency.
The first coordinate was the pink-haired Maid outfit cosplay. This pink-to-white gradient short wig required constant upkeep since the ends easily tangle, demanding thorough brushing with conditioning spray before every wear. The outfit is packed with fine details—a white puff-sleeve blouse layered under a navy suspender pinafore dress, accented by a greyish-blue plaid bow across the chest, while the skirt hem combines blue-and-white gingham with white lace trim and navy scalloped borders. To enrich overall layering, the legs were styled with white over-the-knee Stockings held by garter straps. Posing on the booth platform, I explored one-knee drops and pointing gestures toward the lens; the voluminous flare of this dress meant that kneeling and leg-lifting stances allowed the pleats and delicate lace trims to display at their absolute best. Paired with red contact lenses, cheeky winks, and bright smiles, the resulting energy felt delightfully bubbly.
The second coordinate was the brunette Cat girl techwear ensemble. This design leaned crisp and edgy, crowned with white cat-ear accessories featuring mecha-inspired nuances, a cropped black form-fitting halter vest paired with dramatic flared statement sleeves, and a black pleated mini skirt layered with a white ruffled apron accent. To elevate this look, I wore black over-the-knee boots adorned with metallic chains, complemented by black strappy thigh garters. For this set, my posing became far more sharp and decisive—flashing double peace signs, resting a hand on my hip, or executing high-step poses. Lifting the leg accentuated the thigh-high boots and leg lines, which contrasted boldly against the yellow LED light strips framing the booth backdrop.
Shooting on site at a bustling convention presents major hurdles with lighting and crowds. While booth illumination is intense, shifting color temperatures require seamless unspoken coordination between photographer and model to find optimal angles. Furthermore, heavy foot traffic demands that a model quickly lock into character despite surrounding chaos, delivering resolute eye contact and posture to anchor the lens through the crowd. Running through two consecutive conventions proved physically taxing, yet watching photographers dedicated to their craft with an array of gear at the Nikon booth inspired me to maintain peak energy. These frames chronicle every cherished highlight from CJ and BW, representing the shared dedication between the photographers and myself.
