Today I am sharing this cosplay work of Nicole Reeyn from Genshin Impact. To fit the theme of Genshin Impact: Song of the Welkin Moon, we did a lot of prior preparation in terms of makeup, styling, and set design. When I got the costume, I could intuitively feel the layering of the design. The blue-and-white fabric combined with gold dark patterns and hanging ornaments gives the overall texture a very solid feel. To restore the character's settings, I wore a long golden wig and pointed elf ears. In terms of makeup, the focus was placed on doing a reddish gradient smudge around the eyes, with a red mark dotted right in the center of the forehead, and the gold geometric decoration on the hat is the highlight of the entire styling. The lower body is matched with white stockings and white chunky high-heeled shoes, which visually lengthens the lower body lines very well. The shooting location was chosen in an indoor real-scene studio; Teacher Kaka arranged a white European-style carved sofa and a large amount of well-arranged floral art. The colors of the real-scene floral art are very rich, and the purple, pink, and yellow flowers formed a full color contrast under the lens. To highlight the atmosphere of Song of the Welkin Moon, the background adopted a white hollow-out carved screen, combined with soft side natural light and high-key photography techniques, making the feeling presented by the picture very translucent, and the glossiness of the clothing material was also well preserved. In terms of action design, because the character carries a silent and mysterious temperament, I did not design overly large movements. Emotions are conveyed more through the flow of the gaze and subtle hand movements, such as holding a folding fan against the chin, or supporting the cheek with one hand while leaning on the sofa. The asymmetrical slit design of the skirt actually provides a lot of space for body movements; whether sitting on the sofa with crossed legs or leaning sideways against the armrest, it can showcase the tailoring of the clothing and leg lines very well. The last pose sitting on the floor requires tightening the core to keep the upper body upright, while the legs naturally extend, allowing the skirt hem to spread out on the ground. The heels on the day of the shoot were relatively high; to ensure the stability of the posture, the photographer found many angles in camera positioning to avoid visual dead corners. The durability of the makeup also stood the test during the long shooting session, and touch-ups mainly paid attention to the clarity of the eye makeup. This Genshin Impact Creator Incentive Program gave us a lot of creative space to present the imagined characters in a three-dimensional way. Seeing the light, shadow, and details in the final photos, I feel that the preliminary costume fittings and communication were all worth it.
