[Kurumi cosplay] Date A Live summer beach swimsuit photoset

Today, I'm sharing Kurumi's summer beach swimsuit styling. The outfit is a black and white color-blocked two-piece swimsuit, with white ruffled pleats on both the upper and lower parts, accented with black ribbon bows. Over it is a light purple sheer gauze long-sleeved cover-up, which provides sun protection while adding layers. The headwear is a woven straw hat with lace trim and black ribbons, with purple rose hair ornaments pinned to the twin tails, and a black lace choker around the neck. The overall color scheme focuses on black, white, and purple, perfectly fitting the character's classic color palette.

The wig is deep purple-blue long straight hair with trimmed straight bangs, and the twin tails are slightly curled and volumized. To restore the character's traits, red colored contacts were used in the makeup, the eyeshadow and blush lean towards a reddish-brown tone, and a natural reddish lip shade was chosen. Before the shoot, body foundation and sunscreen were also applied to the arms and legs to avoid uneven skin tone under strong light.

The shooting location was chosen as an outdoor beach. The light around 3 to 4 PM is relatively soft, avoiding the harsh shadows on the face caused by midday sun. The background features the water surface, city architecture, thatched parasols, and beach folding chairs, and we also prepared a transparent inflatable swim ring and an orange-and-white striped inflatable cushion as props. Because the beach sand is quite soft and difficult to stand firmly on, most poses are sitting or lying on the cushion. The first photo shows sitting on the edge of a wooden box with legs crossed and naturally hanging down, which well showcases the leg lines; the second photo is lying sideways on the cushion, holding the brim of the hat, focusing on the upper body curves and waist negative space; the last two are standing and kneeling postures respectively, with the standing pose highlighting the overall clothing outline and full-body proportions, while the kneeling pose emphasizes the upper body's visual effect through a high-angle perspective.

During the shooting process, we also encountered some minor challenges. The sea breeze was quite strong, and the long hair wig easily got blown messy and tangled, so every few shots required grooming with smoothing spray and a comb. The ruffled fabric of the swimsuit easily collected sand, so during breaks, I would gently brush the sand off with a small brush to keep the costume neat. Since the cover-up is made of sheer gauze material, it fluttered naturally in the sea breeze, and the photographer captured many dynamic moments, making the frames look more breathable and alive.

Regarding expression management, the character Kurumi carries a touch of mystery and tsundere traits, so in front of the lens, I tried to maintain a state with slightly raised mouth corners and a penetrating gaze, making the red eyes look even more translucent under the sunlight. When lying on the cushion, the center of gravity should be placed on the side of the waist, tightening the core, paired with a bent-leg posture, so that the photo appears natural and not rigid. Overall, this summer swimsuit styling is very suitable for seaside scenes; the combination of the sheer cover-up and straw hat has a holiday feel while retaining the character's recognizability. This shoot made many attempts in light capture and action direction, and the final presented effect met expectations.
