I'm genuinely satisfied with the overall outcome of these convention hall shots for Arknights' Entelechia. Let's start with the silhouette accuracy of the costume. Black and red is a classic colorway, but creating rich visual layers isn't easy. It features an outer black overskirt paired with an inner red gradient lining. To capture a dynamic, billowing sweep while moving, the fabric chosen for the skirt hem carries a graceful drape without being overly heavy; the hem ruffles also needed careful shaping, or else the flutter would look stiff on camera. Sweeping the hem with a bit of deliberate momentum whether striding or sitting easily yielded frames full of dramatic tension. To nail the character's essence, the black leather-like corset and metallic hardware around the waist were crucial. The corset had to be cinched tight when worn—not only to fit the tailored cut and give the upper body a crisp, sharp contour, but also to complement the eye-catching tiered white ruffles around the collar. Along the thigh, the metallic leg ring linked by delicate chains, paired with lace leg Stockings on the calves, introduced rich textural layers to the details; rounded out with glossy block-heel ankle boots, the lower half's visual focus was firmly established.

Now onto this gigantic scythe prop. Carrying it across an open space was an honest challenge for both stamina and center-of-gravity control. I wrapped the shaft with red-and-black cord, primarily for anti-slip grip and extra tactile friction. During the shoot, whether standing or seated on the stepladder, keeping the prop's balance stable was paramount. As shown in the second photo sitting on the ladder, to match the crossed-leg pose, the scythe was laid diagonally across my front; I had to support its weight steadily while ensuring the full crescent-shaped blade was clearly displayed toward the lens. Wearing red gloves on both hands also created a bold color contrast against the black shaft while preventing hand gestures from looking rigid.

For makeup and headpiece styling, the crimson pupils and sharp eye makeup were pivotal. The pointed ears and the beast ears on the crown required continuous positional adjustments to harmonize with that day's wig styling, using contouring to refine facial proportions so they blended seamlessly. Hall photography places extreme demands on shutter timing: the moment the grand skirt billows into the air, the gaze and facial expression must be locked in sync to project the character's imposing aura. The venue featured lofty ceilings with strong, cool-gray architectural lines, which served as the perfect foil to make the red-and-black contrast pop with vivid clarity. Framing with a wide-angle lens from a slight low angle gave the composition even greater visual punch. Using speedlights to illuminate the subject while dropping exposure on the distant orange walls and background kept the viewer's gaze locked squarely onto the character and this massive scythe, resulting in a very rewarding shoot.
