[Sakuya Izayoi cosplay] Touhou Project: Loving the Stockings Close-Ups Amid the Ruins

The location for this shoot was set in an outdoor gravel area near the COC convention, where rough stones and the delicate blue-and-white maid dress created a vivid visual contrast. Because the dress has multiple layers and a voluminous skirt, avoiding a bulky look required special attention to my center of gravity and leg placement during shooting. For example, when lifting the skirt hem, gently propping up the outer ruffles allowed the white lining and black Stockings to form a clean color block contrast, visually elongating leg proportions.

Regarding props, the two daggers in my hands required precise shooting angles. Under harsh sunlight, the blades easily produced blown-out harsh glares; we had to repeatedly adjust blade orientations, avoiding direct sun or using my body to cast shadows, to capture a weighty metallic texture. The silver-white wig featured braided twin tails and green ribbons, requiring continuous grooming throughout the shoot to keep flyaways at bay.

We experimented with various compositions, including crouching on stone blocks holding the daggers, as well as standing while leaning on a blade with one hand. Using a wide aperture to blur the background created a gentle backlit halo, softening the overall frame. For the black Stockings texture, I deliberately chose an opaque matte material to prevent excessive glare under bright outdoor light, harmonizing seamlessly with the deep navy tone of the dress.

Navigating and balancing across rugged outdoor rock terrain was physically exhausting, requiring constant adjustments to ensure secure footing for my heels. The camera angle was continuously refined throughout to catch the exact moment light kissed the skirt hem. Overall, these Convention photos faithfully recreated the character's elegant yet subtly dangerous demeanor in this Sakuya Izayoi cosplay. We also focused heavily on highlighting leg contours, adjusting body turns, skirt lifts, and over-the-shoulder glances multiple times. Despite the daytime convention crowds, completing this set was immensely satisfying, putting a perfect finishing touch on this cosplay photoshoot.
