Our Qixi Festival project has finally arrived for everyone to see! To embrace the romantic holiday spirit, my partner and I decided to cosplay Porcelain Lux and Ezreal from League of Legends (also featured in Golden Spatula). Bringing these looks from concept to completion took considerable devotion. The essence of the Porcelain skin line lies in the rich interplay of Blue and white porcelain hues trimmed with gilded accents. We chose lustrous satin fabrics that catch dynamic light and shadow with every movement. My costume features an off-the-shoulder modernized qipao silhouette paired with blue-gradient over-the-knee boots, lending an airy and graceful balance to the posture. For the hairstyle, I styled blue hair into top buns complemented by sculpted white bunny hair ornaments, paired with blue colored contacts to capture the lively, spirited essence of the official splash art.
My partner's Ezreal styling was equally eye-catching: short white hair streaked with blue highlights, fluffy animal ears, and distinct blue facial markings that made the character instantly recognizable. His mandarin-collared frog-button tunic and knotted rope waistbelt required careful repositioning of the obi sash and kneepads to maintain sharp tailoring. Prop-wise, Lux's staff was a key highlight—detailed on both ends with star shapes and dimensional white bunny figurines, it carried noticeable physical weight, yet looked remarkably striking when swept through dramatic poses during shooting.
The location was set in an idyllic, ancient-style water town. Elements like wooden bridges, dark tiled eaves, and red lanterns forged a magnificent aesthetic contrast against the cool Porcelain palette. The warm crimson lanterns not only illuminated the scene but also made the cool-toned attire pop vividly against the nightfall. Emphasizing the Qixi holiday theme in our duo interactions, we choreographed numerous hand-holding and guiding gestures. For the running shots across the bridge, we sprinted back and forth multiple times so the photographer could capture genuine, organic motion. Low-angle upward shots flattered our body proportions while drawing the architectural depth of the town into the frame. Other frames featured sitting on stone steps or leaning against wooden railings, where intimate close-ups highlighted the cloud patterns and gold-thread embroidery.
August weather was rather sweltering, and shooting outdoors clad in multiple layers certainly worked up a sweat. Yet the moment the lens focused, our expressions snapped into locked character immediately. The most memorable shot was a high-angle overhead single portrait of Lux: holding the staff while gazing up toward the camera required keeping the spine rigidly straight while maintaining razor-sharp eye contact. My partner supported me constantly off-camera to calibrate angles, making the entire workflow fluid and efficient.
Reviewing the final edits made every bit of preparation and sweat completely worthwhile. Every textile nuance and prop detail translated cleanly before the camera, and the scenic immersion matched our vision flawlessly. This stylistic collision of grounding modern gaming characters inside traditional heritage architecture was my favorite part of the project. Bringing beloved champions to life for the festival and preserving that passion in imagery is deeply satisfying.
