For this Convention photography session, we cosplayed the twin sisters Rem and Ram from Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World. As a Duo cosplay, we put a lot of thought into the symmetry and subtle differences of our costumes during preparation. The outfits were custom-tailored with solid lace ruffles, tied with black ribbons at the neckline and complemented by black bows on the chest for a figure-flattering silhouette. We selected matte synthetic wigs for the blue and pink hair, styling the bangs with an inward curl for a better natural sheen, which combined with the white floral headbands and side ribbons to achieve high character fidelity. For contacts, we wore large-diameter blue and deep-black lenses, deepening the eye sockets and outer corners with eye makeup paired with soft pink blush to capture the characters' aura. Because of the crowd, we found a well-lit spot to shoot close-ups. The trickiest part during the shoot was preventing the wigs and headpieces from interfering with each other, which took quite a while to adjust. Cosplaying requires nailing expressions and demeanor, but since our actual personalities contrast quite a bit with the characters, we issued an OOC apology in advance. We did our best to keep stoic, aloof expressions while snapping dynamic poses. The costumes were comfortable to wear, though we couldn't sit down to avoid wrinkling them. The skirt length just revealed the leg line; while not specifically focused on legs, the overall visual recognition was prominent. With heavy convention traffic, shooting in a corner avoided background clutter, and the ambient lights gave our hair a lovely shimmer. Her pink hair for Ram cosplay and my blue hair for Rem cosplay formed a striking contrast on camera, looking fantastic together. Since we couldn't stand continuously, we took a break in the rest area to catch our breath and touch up our makeup. Our takeaway from this Duo cosplay is that you must coordinate positions and gestures in advance to avoid blocking each other. Makeup and styling took nearly an hour, mainly because managing the wigs was time-consuming. When the costumes arrived, there were quite a few loose threads that we had to trim ourselves. Although the shooting process was tiring, the results—from color coordination to expression control—made all the effort worthwhile. The clarity and composition met our expectations without heavy retouching, capturing an authentic record of the shoot.
