Shooting Entelechia this time was a truly special experience for me, and one of the most memorable photoshoots at a convention. To faithfully recreate this look, significant effort went into the costume's finer details. The overall palette is a classic red-and-black theme: a white ruffled collar paired with a black suit jacket and red patent leather gloves. Sporting red contact lenses and an Elf ear style with pointed tips, along with black-and-white highlighted short hair, the facial makeup focused on red smudging around the eyes and crisp, clean eyeliner.
Ambient lighting at the convention was quite chaotic, so during the shoot, we relied heavily on the photographer's softbox and reflector. To ensure the long leg lines and waist silhouette were flatteringly presented, I deliberately adjusted my posing—holding the black long pole with one hand to enhance visual extension, shifting my center of gravity slightly to one side, while carefully smoothing out the glossy red-and-black cape behind me to prevent wrinkles from undermining the texture. The temperature at the venue was quite warm, and wearing this slightly heavy costume had me sweating quite a bit, but luckily the final visual results turned out fantastic.
The lower-body styling was a standout highlight of this look in this Stockings cosplay feature. Black shorts paired with black leg harness rings and white lace over-the-knee stockings created a clash of textures that added compelling visual contrast. To ensure the white stockings remained free of smudges or snags throughout the shoot, I protected them carefully during breaks. The long pole was an essential prop, serving as a support point while preventing the overall composition from looking empty. Lighting angles were meticulously calculated—frontal light kept the skin looking smooth and delicate, while sidelight sculpted the contours of the outfit. For camera positioning, we experimented with eye-level and slightly high-angle shots, as high angles better accentuate leg proportions and the intricate details of the stockings. This Entelechia styling strikes a beautiful balance between vintage elegance and punk flair, and the red-and-black contrast photographs exceptionally well. The entire Convention photography session lasted nearly two hours, during which I constantly adjusted the range of movement to make sure the leg straps and red gloves never looked stiff in the frame. Although physically demanding, seeing the final shots on the DSLR made all the hard work completely worthwhile.
