The primary goal of this shoot was to compile a set of pose and Lighting reference materials for my illustration practice. As mentioned, the Hair light was an absolute MVP on set—truly a godsend. By darkening the ambient fill and relying on a rear-side Hair light, the pastel pink wig instantly gained luminous, airy dimension, looking practically alive. I naturally smile a lot in photos, so channeling Ram's aloof, haughty temperament meant keeping my facial muscles completely taut to deliver that quintessential Cool cutie expression. Every micro-adjustment—from the slant of my gaze and tucked chin to fingers resting lightly on the shoulder or leg—was tested repeatedly.
The outfit features a white gown adorned with ruffled hems, delicate lace, and ribbons, paired with white wings and feather props to evoke porcelain-doll refinement. Posing against plaster pillars under high-contrast directional lighting created defined facial shadows, balancing pristine purity with a subtly eerie edge. We experimented with reclining poses, top-down perspectives, and over-the-shoulder looks; the final shot—sitting with bent knees surrounded by white feathers—required multiple camera adjustments to balance composition with clean leg lines. In low light, white fabric easily loses definition, so sculpting fabric folds and anatomical planes relied entirely on directional lighting. Channeling Ram from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- proved both an artistic breakthrough and an inspiring posing study.
