[Raiden Shogun cosplay] Genshin Impact Narukami Group: Lightning and Fox Shadow under the Cherry Blossom Courtyard

We finally released our photoshoot for the Narukami Group! The shooting location was a Japanese-style courtyard studio set, chosen primarily for the harmony between its wooden porch and cherry blossom tree backdrop. Aiming to capture that attuned resonance and synergy between Raiden Shogun cosplay and Yae Miko cosplay, we avoided overly intricate poses, focusing instead on seated postures, standing stances, and mutual interactions.

In terms of attire, Raiden Shogun's purple kimono required folding adjustments at the hem to prevent tripping on the steps due to the long train. The pairing of Black stockings and high boots was chosen to accentuate long leg lines, paying special attention to reflective light angles during shooting to ensure texture. The hair accessories carried substantial weight, requiring constant mindfulness of head balance. Miko's red-and-white outfit features a rather complex tailoring; the long sleeves tended to obscure her face during the initial sequences, so we adjusted the orientation of how she gripped the prop to keep arm lines natural.

For hair and makeup, to showcase distinct personalities, Raiden Shogun's eye makeup was kept sharp with minimal extraneous color to preserve a collected, cool demeanor. Miko's side featured rounded, large-eye makeup, appearing more spirited when paired with her pink hair.

The shooting process proceeded smoothly: starting with frontal seated and standing poses, followed by two-person interactions. For the seated pose in the first photo, a slightly elevated camera angle showcased the proportions between the legs and upper body nicely. In the third shot, both of us stood holding long-handled props, attempting to capture their combat stances and majestic presence. The lap pillow gesture in the fourth photo appeared casual, but we adjusted the posture several times to find the most comfortable angle without accidental wardrobe malfunctions.

Post-processing mainly resolved interior lighting color casts, shifting the originally stark white lighting into a cohesive purple-pink hue that blended with the scenery. The cherry blossoms were artificial flowers, so we slightly reduced the edge brightness to lend them richer layering. For this cosplay piece, I prioritized the overall environmental presentation. Projecting whether a character feels composed or spirited relies heavily on eye angles and subtle gestures captured during the shoot.

Temperatures were quite high on shoot day; sweltering in these outfits inside the studio for hours brought plenty of sweat, taking considerable time for styling maintenance and makeup touch-ups. Furthermore, standing in high-heeled long boots for extended periods made our soles ache—a true test of stamina. Resting after wrap-up while reviewing previews on the monitor, the journey felt remarkably demanding yet rewarding.

From costumes and props to the shoot itself, preparation took extensive time, allowing us to immerse ourselves entirely in the characters' atmosphere. Seeing the finished photos, the color balance across compositions turned out very pleasing, especially the contrast between the black high boots and the pink cherry blossoms. The final outcome met our initial conceptual expectations, resulting in a thoroughly satisfying photoshoot experience.
