[Columbina Cosplay] Moonlight Like Silk, How to Return Home: Genshin Impact Nantong Anime Convention Photos

For these convention photos from the Nantong Lingjing Zhi Yue anime convention, I specially asked Huangyuan Miaomiao to shoot with a Canon R6 II using a single-light setup. Because it was an indoor venue with cluttered ambient light, pairing Single-light photography with a reflector allowed us to precisely control the contrast between the background and my face, carving out sharp, dimensional body contours. The biggest challenge of this outfit lay in the white feathered head wings and the crisscrossing body ribbons: the wings had to be anchored securely so they wouldn't tilt while walking, and the strapping along my arms and legs needed to be kept quite tight to maintain crisp lines, which left slight pinching after long standing poses. The wig featured a black-to-red gradient; its layered, wind-blown flow rendered gorgeously on camera, though styling and untangling it beforehand took considerable time. We scouted a few clean nooks and relied on shallow depth of field to melt the background crowds into soft blur. Seated on a stool to capture the leg strapping and skirt lines, we tested numerous angles to find the optimal composition—ensuring the leg contours looked sleek while letting the blue fabric drape naturally. The costume is rich in detail; the white, blue, and gold palette appeared remarkably translucent under direct key light. Beyond reuniting with familiar photographers, I enjoyed connecting with fellow fans on the floor. From morning makeup prep and dressing to afternoon takes, I was completely immersed in the persona. Compared to rigid poses, I prefer spontaneous candid captures—like an unprompted glance toward the lens between setups, alongside guided poses from the photographer. Ranging from extended-hand perspectives to half-body close-ups, full-body standing postures, and seated frames, this series thoroughly documents the costume's primary design elements. Cosplaying at conventions is always a unique journey; despite the physical toll, the finished stills make every bit of effort worthwhile.
