This fan-canon version of Remilia shot in a Xiamen studio this time focused on trying out the prop combinations in the Kourindou style. Gothic elements like crosses, red roses, skulls, and iron chains are stacked together, paired with a deep red velvet backdrop, which genuinely maximizes the dark and elegant atmosphere. The white dress with red ribbons, combined with the signature bat wings and tiny fangs, also keeps the playful feel intact. During the shoot, harsh studio lights were used to dim the surroundings, making the red richer and more saturated while highlighting the fair, translucent skin. The apple, cage, and red spear in hand are all meant to give the frame more narrative feel. This costume has many details; the red bowknot at the neckline and the lace trims on the skirt hem are heavily crafted, and wearing it actually tests the stretch and elegance of the posture. Location shoots and studio shoots feel completely different; it's much easier to control the direction of light and shadow indoors, and it allows the desired anime fantasy feel to be grounded more effectively. As a loyal enthusiast of Touhou Project, being able to shape Remilia according to my own understanding is a highly thrilling experience. Archiving this set of final photos also records my attempt at the character's fan-canon style, and I hope everyone can feel this unique charm interweaving gothic and sweetness.
