This Summer beach photoshoot project was in the planning for quite some time, primarily aiming to utilize summer's unique natural lighting to interpret Remilia's slightly gothic yet fresh temperament. Because the costume design features abundant elements, hair and makeup details were crucial in determining the quality of the finished photos. Light purple curly hair was paired with a large crimson rose bonnet, while orange-red contact lenses were matched with reddish eyeshadow and red lips, along with a painted teardrop effect under the left eye to echo the red rose motifs on the dress.

This Lolita dress featuring a white base with red floral accents is exquisitely designed; the red ribbon bow and pearl chains across the chest, paired with translucent lace trimming, reveal a captivating texture under the strong coastal sunlight. This time, I also specially paired it with black bat wings and a white lace parasol, creating a striking contrast among red, white, and black against the backdrop of the blue sea.

It was very windy on the day of the shoot, making the outdoor session far harder to manage than anticipated. The sea breeze tossed the skirt wildly, the wide-brimmed hat required constant holding to keep steady, and the incoming waves constantly lapped at our feet, forcing me to continually adjust my footing on the wet sand. Especially for the pose lifting the skirt in Photo 3: to best flatter the leg lines and the flowing, layered tiers of the sheer skirt, I had to hold up the heavy tulle gown with one hand for balance while managing my facial expression and gaze angle, taking numerous attempts to capture the exact moment the skirt flared naturally in the wind.

Shooting barefoot on the sand also required safety precautions to avoid pebbles and seashells hidden in the sand. Overall, in these photos taken under natural light, the red-and-white outfit appeared exceptionally radiant, and the slight dampness from occasional splashes of seawater made the whole atmosphere feel more organic and lively. Using the white parasol to shield against harsh overhead sunlight produced a softer skin tone. For such a complex and ornate costume design, an outdoor beach shoot is a true test of stamina and attention to detail. After getting all the accessories, pearls, and roses positioned just right, seeing such an expressive visual outcome made all the prior effort feel completely worthwhile.
